On face value it looked an astonishing win by Watabout at Canterbury last Wednesday after sitting three wide on the pace.

Didn't seem to be a bias at play, just need to monitor the form coming out of the meeting to make sure.

Yes mate, they are all mine. Bit worried about the rail being out at the valley. usually means it's a lottery and form is out the wndow.

Just logged onto my blackbook and those 3 are only part of the 21 that i have entered for tomorrow.

Bloody hell, how do I back all of them      21 of the suckers. Lucky I have a reasonable bank from the last few weeks

For what its worth

City Hall missed the kick, driven up to mid field, never settled and never finished off

Mosse 4 wide most of the trip and whacked away> looked fat as a pig

Both were ok and deserve another chance but ceretainly need a class drop

Had a Black Book email about the unbeaten Desert Wizard resuming today in a BM 78 at Cranbourne. Was very impressive in his first campaign and the form lines were strong.

Had a few dollars on (backed it on the tote when it was $3.50 and $2.60 fixed - payed $1.90  )

I think this bloke is going places. He was crowded for room and only really got warm in the last 100m.

He will win a few more yet, and over further ground than today.

Replay is up on Racing Network for a couple of days if anyone wants to see a good horse in action.

From Canterbury there was an outstanding run put in by Brilliant Crystal in the 2nd race.

http://www.racingnetwork.com.au/?nvId=582145

I think they are Gooree colours (red and black). Horse is back with the tail well into the straight and puts an enormous effort in the last 200m to just miss a place.

Future winner for Cummings. Yet another good Bel Esprit.

Haha yeah that horse does that a bit though love to run on, Mezeray Miss will be better round a bend, very talented.

Bennetta & Peron both trialled really well going into the Sheraco, I'm leaning towards Bennetta & it's drifting nicely.
Still have to be on Zoustar but will be hard fromt he wide gate & Think Prince Cheri is a bit special hoping it drifts a bit though bit short at the moment when I got $5 against walkers last time.

Kembla R3N5 & R4N1 should go close preferr the former form the better gate.

Best Morph R2 N3 Burnro should win and come to Melb.

Good Punting   emthup

Look out for Infidel in a suitable Maiden in Adelaide.

Nearly fell on the home turn today and still managed to finish the race off well for about 5th.

Just watched last weeks episode of blackbookers on TVN.
I think Messers Hyland & Haynes must have had their eyes painted on when selecting Keep the magic & Centre Piviot in their respective races. There were 2 others that had the flashing light on before those 2

I guess beauty must be in the eye of the beholder :chin:

Away from all the negative stuff going on, there was some great bloodstock on show at Canterbury today.

In Race 1 I thought Balmain Boy's improvement between his first and second starts, and the fact he was held up at a vital stage, indicate he will be winning his maiden race very soon. Trained by Les Bridge who races his horses in his beloved Souths colours so I'm sure they are having a chuckle down at the stable.

The winner Devil Hawk is a full brother to Hawkspur who has just turned 3. I would keep him in mind for races like the Spring Champion or the VRC Derby.

Race 2 was a maiden and the Snowden horse Serene Majesty was obliged to race 3 deep early yet won the race by 5.3 lengths first up and at only it's second start in a race. Mum Custard was a Stakes winner in SA as was a half to Custard called Russian Caravan. Also closely related to Irish 1000 Guineas/Moyglare Stud Stks winner Tarascon. I'd be following this horse.

Chris Waller also had an impressive 3yo winner in Race 4 called Laucala which came from well back to overhaul the two leaders. Races in the famous all cerise of the Inghams and mum is a half to the G1 and multi stakes winning Victorian mare of the 90's Marble Halls. Won like a horse that will win a few more and in much better grade than this. Has now had only 3 starts for a 1-1-1 record.

Race 5 (BM 65 1100m) was taken out by the unbeaten Lucky Can Be who defeated Thorsborne (now 4:2-1-0) and the very unlucky Upscale who was beaten by a wide barrier (2:1-0-1). Lucky Can Be is a half to the Coolmore Stks winner Ofcourseican and a Sth African G1 winner called Gimmethegreenlight. Upscale is closely related to the G1 winner Onemorenomore now standing at stud in NZ.

I think the form to come out of this race will hold up as the horses progress to the next class.

The 4yo Snowden mare Artistry who won Race 7 now has a 6:2-1-1 record (unlucky to run into Najoom in two of those races) and will perform well in mares class races. 2nd horse Burning Passion came home well in the Gooree colours. His mum Dearness was handy and produced G1 Brisbane winner Romantic Touch. Was having only it's seventh start today for Bart and James record is now 7:1-2-1.

Johnny Sargent in recent years seems to have taken ownership of the Oaks up and down the eastern seaboard.

Think I saw another one this morning at the Hawkesbury trials called True Fame. Unraced.
