Mexican breeders have rightly been proud of the efforts of Written Tycoon, the sire of Blue Diamond winner and Golden Slipper hopeful Written By, currently 8th on the  leading stallions list for the season (and the only Victorian sire in the top dozen).

They'd better enjoy it while it lasts, as WT's off to the Hunter Valley next season.

And for good measure, Zoustar is about to become a permanent resident in NSW and will no longer shuttle to Woodside.

That'll decimate Woodside Park's stallion roster, leaving only Rich Enuff and the shuttler and Rick Jamieson muse, Cable Bay.

Murmurs too about doings and Chatswood Stud and Swettenham.

I'm hearing that Woodside is staging a rearguard action to try to hold on to Written Tycoon.

Ultimately, it'll depend upon the horse's major shareholder.

He's always been something of a Messara acolyte.
