I was told on Monday that Taqneen is a roarer so they expect his poor running so far in races is due to that.

Beluga Caviar shouldn't be a maiden much longer after winning another jump out by over 6L making his 2nd jump out win in two weeks he should be putting a big smile on trainers Hayes-Dabernig's faces when he next races.

Taqneen is trying again tomorrow so I hope he can run a much improved race if they've corrected his breathing problems.

Rodway is entered for Inglis sale on Friday.

Taqneen ran another long last tonight...just a shame he can't go a yard in a race unlike mum.

Collins Makybe Diva's full sibling 2012 born will be trained by Corstens team I hope 1/2 as good as the Diva. Here is Collins the Diva's full 3yo sister.

Rodway sold for $15k at yesterday's sale and looks like going to WA so good luck to the buyers.

There was some bargains at the Inglis sale and those that purchased Darley horses did exceptionly well but my fave Bantam was withdrawn.

I am surprised I had never started a similar thread, Perhaps I have but I can not find it.

Anyway, I will post on this thread those horses having their first starts that catch my eye with their pedigrees.

I will start of today in 7 minutes time the first from Caulfield.

INSURPASSABLE, by Exceed And Excel out of a full sister to superstar 2yo Clan O'Sullivan in the first from Caulfield.

R1 #6 Insurpassable, to be ridden by first race Jase.

I see Insurpassable is running around in picnic races these days.

I was beginning to think this wouldn't happen but after being bought recently for 5.500 Taqneen finally won his first race over 1 mile by 2L...I hope that gives him confidence to go on now as it was great with him sitting off the pace instead of last he has been racing at.

Talk about looking at the positives in anything. This " blueblood " won a Picnic Trophy Race at Balnarring with a first place prize of $1380. Fair return for the new owners. Bet those who paid $360,000 for this slow coach as a yearling weren't quite as excited. Where to now Healesville, Woolmai etc. Maybe J Wheeler could be looking for something to run over 5000 metres at Oakbank at Easter !

Rosehill Saturday R3 Star of Moonson

http://racingaustralia.horse/FreeServices/PedigreeReport.aspx?RefNo=9593500

Dam produced a couple of stakes winners, but more importantly is a Danehill full sister to some reasonable horses, including Redoute's Choice, Manhattan Rain and a half to Platinum Scissors.

It comes up against #5 Defcon who has some big raps on him.

#7 Pewter is debuting in that race. It comes from the family of Media (G2 winner), Valourina (Stks winner), Bravery (G1 winner won Qld Oaks-Derby double), Brave Prince (G2), Timbourina (Stks). By More Than Ready.

Only 8 runners so will be an uninteresting race to some.

Cliveden debuts at Canterbury in Race 1 tomorrow for Godolphin.

By Street Cry out of Qld Derby winner Camarena. Camarena is Danehill daughter of Canny Miss.

Canny Miss was a triple Group 1 winning Marscay half to the great Canny Lad (by Bletchingly - isn't it good to talk about Star Kingdoms :) )

Canny Lad won the Slipper - VRC Sires double (trained in Melbourne by Rick Hore-Lacy) and went on to sire 50 stakes winners.

Colour Drops debuts in Race 1 at Hawkesbury tomorrow.

By Lonhro out of Starfish. Starfish's two other progeny are the MM maiden winner Wolf Cry and the well performed Glenbawn Dame. The dam of Starfish is the G1 winner Stella Cadente with the Gimcrack winner Brilliant Bisc in the family.

Owned in the same interests as Black Caviar and trained by Team Hawkes.

Two barrier trials to date - won them both.

Tommy Berry to ride from barrier 8.

Extremely impressive in her last barrier trial.

Someone mentioned this one on another thread but cannot find it.

Winx's Snitzel half debuts for Gai in race 1 at Warwick Farm today.

El Divino looked very good in both trial wins. I had to look twice at the owners. It's not him, is it  :what:

Fairway Thoroughbreds (Mgr: J Camilleri)

However, there look to be a few smart ones.

Grincheaux
debuts for Godolphin and I thought it was nowhere near extended in an easy trial win.  Related to Port Adelaide Guineas winner Excelltastic who was placed in the Spring Champion.

Ronny Quinton has been in great form lately and the trial placing of Gracious Grey was full of merit after it raced deep early after being slow out. By Redoutes, is related to triple US Group 1 winner Ogygian.

Hostwin Legend for the Moores was fully extended and won a 900m trial by 3.8 lengths. Dam is a half to Gold Trail who won a NZ Railway Stks as well as a Canterbury Classic and The Shorts, so bred to go fast.

One of those interesting midweek races...

Chetwood won his first start like a horse going places. Last 600 was slow but he was entitled to get a bit tired after McDonald had him 55 deep for the first half of the race in a speed battle.

He is a half to Mearas who I thought went off to stud a bit early. Their dam was out of Voltage who produced G1 winners Anamato and Drum - an Oaks and an Oakleigh Plate - go figure that one out.

Related to Asgard who was a 3yo in arguably the best ever crop of 3yos - Imagele, Grand Cidium, Tontonan, Leica Lover - going by memory there so happy to be corrected. Asgard won the WA Derby and the Spring Champion Stakes which was run in the Autumn in those days.

Chetwood goes around in the 2nd race at Warwick Farm.

Saw that. Really flew when it got going.

That Beaumont track is the best in NSW I reckon. No bias. Plenty of space. Hope they keep it going when the main track re-opens.

First two races at Warwick Farm today are fantastic races. Wouldn't be surprised to see them throw up some future winners.

Hawkesbury Race 4 #4 Radradra is named after the Parramatta winger and trained by Team Hawkes debuts today.

Is a Street Sense half to a G3 winner London Lolly and another handy horse called Chautauqua

Is currently $1.38 pre-post favourite on the back of to trial wins.

He looked a million dollars in the last one
