Fastnet Rock gelding Supreme Win created a huge impression at the Sha Tin meeting in Hong Kong on Sunday when he bolted away to score by more than four lengths at his second race start.

Prepared by Manfred Man and partnered by Brett Prebble, Supreme Win improved on his debut fifth placing at Sha Tin on June 13 to score a dominant victory.

Supreme Win jumped well and moved forward to share the lead and after turning for home left all his rivals struggling as he surged away with a powerful sprint giving nothing else a chance in the 1400 metre griffin event.

A $400,000 purchase from the draft of Stratheden Stud at the 2008 Magic Millions Yearling Sale for Asian Bloodstock Services, Supreme Win is the first foal of the stakes-winning Pins mare Tivoli Dancer (NZ).

Supreme Win is the ninth first crop winner for Fastnet Rock (8 in Australia) and is bred along similar lines to his Group Three winner Wanted, who is from a daughter of Snippets, while Supreme Wins is from a mare by the Snippets stallion Pins.

Cats Whisker Retired & Heads To Fastnet Rock
Multiple Gr2-winning 4YO mare Cats Whisker (Fusaichi Pegasus-Perfect Halo, by Don't Say Halo) who pulled up lame after track-work last week, has been retired & will head to the breeding barn for a date with Gr1-winning Coolmore stallion Fastnet Rock (Danehill-Piccadilly Circus, by Royal Academy). Cats Whisker had notched 3 stakes victories & a stakes runner-up from 4 starts in less than 2 months since returning from a 16-weeks spell, culminating in winning the Gr2 Rose Of Kingston Stakes (1400m) at Flemington on October 3. Overall Cats Whisker (a $250,000 yearling consigned by Coolmore at the 2007 Inglis Easter Sale in Sydney) recorded 6 wins (also including September's Gr2 Let's Elope Stakes over 1400m at Flemington & August's Gr3 Cockram Stakes over 1200m at Caulfield) & 4 placings (including September's Gr2 Stocks Stakes over 1600m at Moonee Valley, plus 2008's Gr1 Thousand Guineas over 1600m at Caulfield & Gr2 Edward Manifold Stakes over 1610m at Flemington) from 13 starts for $599,300 earnings.

The daughter of Sadler's Wells, who was also successful in the Irish and Yorkshire Oaks, is one of 21 Group-winning or stakes-producing mares confirmed to visit the son of Danehill.

Other high-profile bookings include All Too Beautiful, an Oaks-placed daughter of Urban Sea, Phoenix Stakes winner Damson and Irish Oaks heroine Moonstone as well as the dams of Araafa, Clodovil, Johannesburg, King Charlemagne, Peeping Fawn, Rumplestiltskin, Thewayyouare and Westphalia.

A Group 1-winning sprinter on the track, Fastnet Rock has been quick to make an impact in Australia, siring 11 stakes winners including Group 1 scorer Irish Lights from his first two crops of racing age. He is standing his first northern hemisphereseason at Coolmore for 35,000.
