Fours
Used to be Fours.
The op was a cinch.
The hard part was getting the beard transplant from Ned Kelly

Umm, JP.

Pardon my ignorance but what's a double trio?

Frankly, I don't even know what a single one is. :embarrassed:

Trifecta: Picking 1-2-3 in correct order
Trio: Picking 1-2-3 in any order
Double Trio: Picking the Trio in each of two nominated races

Here are the tables to calculate the cost of combinations:

https://tatts.com/tattsbet_help/racing/racing-bet-types/double-trio

Example:

4 selections in Race 9 with 5 selections in Race 10 would be 40 combinations.
It is possible to take a %  just like a FF or Quaddie, but minimum ticket value must be $1.00

In the above example, instead of costing $40 ... 10% of the dividend can be had for $4.00

This is a product that could do with better promotion and exposure than it has had.

A few of us ran a small syndicate and made $40 last nearly 6 months, from memory, about a year ago.
In the ticket below, we took 2-3-4-6-7-8-9-14 in the first Race with 1-2-3-4-7-8 in the second race.
There were 8 x 6 combinations = 1120 x 5% = $56
That ticket came from October 11th 2014.

Note: We didn't box them. We took a lot of individual tickets. Bit time consuming
At times we managed two dividends because of overlap/doubling up of combinations.
Someone with good software would kill this exotic.

The winning Trio numbers we 3-4-14 with 1-2-7 and the T2 paid $6365.50.
Our share was thus $318.22 for the $56 outlay. That's how we made it last.
Not exactly the Legal Eagles (No Don Scott's amongst us) but we did have a lot of fun with it.

These have potential ... just like Keno    But they are also a lot of fun if you do nail one.
The exotic lends itself well to anchor bets eg if you believe Hopfgarten and Cocoa Bar are good things to place ... the number of combo's can be drastically reduced.

JWH - lot more info than you asked for there, but I know others may have questions as well.
Thought I'd save myself time by giving a Cook's Tour.

Thanks for asking mate   emthup
