should i make it later ?

the idea behind the cutoff is to stop people following trends

Your comp, your rules Rats.

I just logged on like normal to post (I hadn't read the rules) as most of my tips are normally later or in Perth so the 1pm caught me out  :/

to be quite honest i think the roll up today was very disappointing

14 tips from our membership is as weak as piss

$530 worth of prizes and almost dead silence , i think a lot of people need to look at that

if this place is to survive and continue to prosper more input is needed

if a prize based comp doesn't do it i worry for the longevity of this place

rant over

Well when going through my various selections for a place bet I settled on Moqla in AR3  which was showing at the time I posted at 2.90 a place, ok I thought  that looked good wins the race at 1.60 a place result for me a looser  Rat think you maybe on your own for points today.

To be honest place betting is pretty boring. Not many actually do it. Each way for sure but only backing the place? It's like picking out a consolation prize each time. Its great you have a comp running but I can see why people aren't entering if they get no reward at all for backing a winner.

It's a sponsored comp worth $400.00. you may not realise but picking a placegetter over $2.00 is not easy, 14 players today and only two picked a winner / placgetter, in my case diddn't make the cut because it was backed in from 9's to whatever but only  $1.60 a place - no prize there  - have a go next week.

Sorry mate too much fun and frivolity to be engaged in at the track today and I missed the cut off of 1 pm which I think is ideal - no advantage to any player

cal

this is a comp , find something you like at about 10's

place your pick and your in the running for some nice prizes      :bop:

plenty of reward if you win the comp

the first way to back a winner is to back a loser

makes sense to me

Using the original thread to post weekly tips with the first post after the previous week results being the beginning of the next week  - does that make sense.

Place betting not my cup of tea sorry mate. Second is first of the losers in my eyes. Not sure either how you can look into a crystal ball and see what the final dividend is going to be which determines if your selection qualifies or not.

Your spot on there, I call it a gamble and that is what punting is all about, punting win or place.
