How the field was determined
The final field is composed of the fastest 8 greyhounds (plus reserves) at Sandown Park from 1 March 2015 to 20 September inclusive that nominated for the series.
Times may be recorded at any race meeting, or during a series of qualification trials conducted on the Sundays preceding the series. Trials were conducted under normal race conditions.
Following the final qualifying trial, a manual box draw was conducted on course to determine the matches with the greyhound drawing 1 facing the greyhound drawing 2, 3v4, 5v6 and 7v8.

How it the series works
The Speed Star will be conducted as race 3 (7.46pm) on the program. It will consist of four matches, the winner of each match collecting $10,000, with the greyhound recording the fastest overall time collecting an additional $15,000, the second fastest time picking up an additional $6000.
Greyhounds that draw an odd number will jump from the inside box (box 1), while greyhounds that draw an even number will jump from the outside box (box 3)
The final positions in the race will be declared on each greyhound’s overall time.
