Greyhounds April 3rd
Best overs :
Bendigo R2 #3 Daph's Desi - No wins from 10 starts isn't usually the best indicator for a bet but I took the $9.50 at TAB (still $8.50 Bet365). I have this bitch leading in decent time for the class here and I have her four best par adjusted times better than any other dog in the race. You always run the risk with maidens that a dog will suddenly improve but I thought the $9.50 eachway here looked like a mistake. After doing the form I was keen to take the $4.80 advertised in the early form so the $9.50 was a great surprise. Only led once when run down late by a neck over 450 at Ballarat so the 425 here looks ideal. Raced truly and railed well when leading at Ballarat and gives no indication she'll hang around for the others if she gets to the front.
Other thoughts :
Bendigo R3 #5 Olivia Twist - Have this bitch leading but in slow early time so fair chance something will beat her out. Only had 4 starts and looks to be improving with her last start being the best par adjusted time of any runner in the race. I took the $13 TAB (still $12 Bet365) as it just looked way overs to me.
Bendigo R10 #3 Four Pillars - Only had two starts and both runs are good enough to win a 4th Grade (this is a 7th Grade) and about 5 lengths better than any other run by another dog in the race. Have him leading clearly in quick early time ... looks a ping and win proposition. $1.90 looks overs but I don't bet that short, but have taken him in a multi with the two previously mentioned and a couple of others.
Geelong R6 #8 Meehan Ziggy - Early form guides dismiss her as having to lead to win. Well I have her leading here in decent early time. I really think she's a decent chance to cross and lead. The 1, 3 and 6 have better par times but the earliest of those is about five months ago. Would prefer her drawn inside but I feel the probability she'll cross and lead warranted taking the $8 early with TAB. (Still $7.50 Bet365).
