I backed a dog a few times that actually jumped, stoped and headed back the other way and attacked the bunny

I think his name was King Orchy was back in the late 70's.

he only did it twice before being banned

I think that's why in OZ we are going down the NZ path of having the dogs "grab" the bunny at the end of the race.

Not sure OL as to when it closed down.  I was in the Army and was transfered around and didn't get to go there as often as I wanted in the later years.

Dog racing in Qld  looks pretty stuffed to me. It's  Gonzo, and won't be back.

S.A. racing has looked shaky for some time. Rubbish prizemoney just a symptom of the rot. TAB privatisations has been bad news for racing, they should have been handed direct to the industry.

“Within a short time I was calling trots at Redcliffe on Saturday afternoons, and dogs at Beenleigh on Monday, Lawnton on Tuesday, Loganholme on Thursday and Capalaba on Friday ... and for $17 each.”

This was from an article on the Just racing site back in October .

Grats can you ever remember harness racing at Loganholme?   I've been up in Qld since 1980 but can't recall ever knowing there was a track there.

Loganholme dogs would have closed in the sixties or very early seventies.
