I'm pretty sure there is a claimer in Qld well into the 300's as well.

That's the one Destreos. Not sure why I thought it was a claimer.

For many years has run around in the FFA's at Albion Park and quite often in the Grand Circuit events held up there in his earlier years. I think it even went around in an Interdom.

Great old horse.  8-)

Mount Gambier gold cup was on tonite, won by a 20/1 shot that led all the way, driven by an 81 year old trainer/driver JIM BARKER    :noteworthy:     :noteworthy:   It had won it's previous run at the same track at 40/1. It was the worst race call i have EVER heard anywhere, he couldn't splutter out the names of the horses for 75% of the race, if i can work out how to put it here to listen to...i will. Hilton Donaldson was a better caller PISSED than this guy is  emthdown

Even when the dash for home occurred he dropped off the winner and had Adam's Express making a beeline for the post.

That was the most extraordinary race call I've ever heard.

Even his last sentence '"Starlight Logan wasn't far from the placegettters".... well yes, second last beaten 27m+.

And to think that Sky sacked Hilton Donaldson for being pissed one day and fluffing his race lines....that wasn't HALF as bad as last nite's effort...and if you think it was a one-off...think again, have a listen to the other adelaide trot race calls on that card, he couldn't remember many of the names, and there were again long pauses during the race with no commentary. He called the dogs at Mt Gambier today, that MIGHT be more his go, maximum of 8 runners, but he may not be able to keep up. I believe his name is Allen Williams. Even old Ray Fewings is better than that. SA had better get some backup racecallers, that effort last nite was a BARRY CROCKER  :o emthdown

Thanks Wenona. I was in Temora a few weeks ago. Had a few in the Paleface Lounge at the club, walked past the Paleface Arcade in the Main Street and past his statue at Paleface Park.

I mentioned that one almost 2 years ago, only had about 320 starts at that stage.  Another 120 starts in 22 months is good going.

You get a few 10 year olds thoroughbreds from time to time but rarely a mare

R5 14:55 MURWILLUMBAH CELLARS BM 58

11 ALL OUR WIVES (2)

B/BR 10 year Mare

76: 3 - 12

Last won three years ago at Gatton.  Doesn't run dead last every start - occasionally gets to 5 lengths behind. Last "picked up a cheque" at this meeting last year when 4th of 7.  Wonder about the wisdom of running an old mare on a  track currently rated a Firm 2 though  :chin:

Ballarat Race 5 #7 Beau Dazzle is an 8YO mare going around in a maiden.

She has been to the races 73 times for 10 placings.

She has run last at 7 of her last 8 starts. The exception being a non tabbie at Deniliquin where she ran 7th of 10.

She has run last or 2nd to last at 10 of her last 12 starts.

The margins she is getting beat by are not pretty.
