Rod Hill brought harness racing into the homes of Queensland when night harness racing started here in 1968 through radio 4KQ.......Rod was the original caller for all trotting in SE Qld in the early days and he has some wonderful memories some of which he shared with Phil Purser in a story on Just Racing reproduced below with permission.
I remember being in the public bar of the Shakespeare Hotel in Barcaldine one night in the 70's and the radio picked up Rod's race call from Redcliffe or the Gold Coast I don't remember which it was as clear as a bell.
Rod Hill is now in his 80's and lives at Riverview on the way to Ipswich this is his story from 2006.
