Not far away (May 1st) and early indications are that last night's Wood Memorial winner Eskendereya (by nearly 10 lengths at Aqueduct) could start shorter than 2/1 for the Derby.

Earlier in the year Kyla Stra looked like having a ride in the race, Can not recall the name of the horse and googling has not bought an answer.

We put it under our house when we bought one of these new fangle things called a refrigerator back in the 60's.

Form with Beyer Speed Figures (it's 3.1mb)

A pro handicappers thoughts:

Kentucky Derby contenders

Lookin at Lucky (7/2): Synthetic horse has looked incredible on dirt during works
Sidney’s Candy (6/1):  Same scenario as above but just a tick less impressive
Dublin (12/1): Probably the best horse in the field that actually races regularly on dirt
American Lion (14/1): Another great dirt horse just hitting his stride
Endorsement (15/1): I’m not entirely sold but this guy looks like he could pull the upset
Noble’s Promise (12/1): Seems like a solid bet to finish top 3 if healthy

Kentucky Derby pretenders

Line of David (28/1): Front runner has gas tank issues and hasn’t taken to dirt
Super Saver (12/1): A good horse but not good enough for this field
Homeboykris (35/1): Improved last time out but this isn’t the winner
Dean’s Kitten (35/1): Good underdog to root for but not a realistic contender
Devil May Care (20/1): The filly just doesn’t stack up favorably against the boys
Discreetly Mine (30/1): The 2010 Kentucky Derby field is just too good for this fella
Interactif (50/1): Not running well on dirt and likely to be scratched

Kentucky Derby who knows

Ice Box (11/1): Dirt horse that needs to get some consistency
Awesome Act (12/1): Big closer that doesn’t always find his way through traffic
Conveyance (18/1): Very good runner but might not be able to keep up with the contenders
Stately Victor (30/1): Blue Grass winner could compete if he recaptures that form
Mission Impazible (18/1): I don’t like him but other respected handicappers do so he’s here
Paddy O’Prado (15/1): Horrible during only dirt run but it was a long time ago

Enjoyed the build up and helps when you fluked the winner smiley

The wet in the homestretch was something else.
