NSW jockey given 3 months for having a punt

A NSW-based jockey was given a three-month suspension by Racing NSW stewards after he pleaded guilty to using another person’s TAB account to place bets.
Mid North Coast based rider, Danny Peisley was charged under AR83(c) for placing 48 bets on horse races using his mother Mrs Ellen Peisley’s TAB account.
Peisley’s suspension commenced immediately and he will be eligible to resume riding on the July 7.
He was also charged under AR175(l) for attempting to place a bet on the Jockeys Challenge at the Taree meeting on January 28.
The hearing of that charge has been adjourned so that a closer examination of Peisley’s mobile phone records on the morning of the meeting can be investigated.
Peisley didn’t fulfill his obligations at the meeting due to being overweight and stewards are looking into a number of bets placed on Peter Graham in the Jockeys Challenge prior to notification Peisley had been stood down.

Two Sydney-based persons who placed bets on the Taree Jockey’s Challenge between 10:55 am and 11:10 am on the morning of the meeting will be asked to attend the hearing to provide evidence.
