Breednet - Media Release - Sunday, 11 April 2010
Owner Lloyd Williams’ latest sale of racehorses are all featured on the Gavelhouse website and boast some superbly bred types and opportunities for the astute buyer.
Historically the horses that have been sold out of the Williams stable have proven to be successful.
Horses such as Hume that ran second to Shocking the weekend before Shocking won the Melbourne Cup. Recast, the Singapore success story and winner of the Singapore Gold Cup. Simplest who went on to win six in a row for his new trainer Barry Baldwin and World Champion six time Group One winner and highest stakes earner in Hong Kong winning over HK$75 million, Vengeance of Rain.
The group of horses currently on offer are no different in the opportunities they present.
Beautifully bred examples such as Mews, the three year old Pins – Gin Player gelding is a half to the Multiple Group winner Zarita.
Last week at the Inglis Easter Yearling sale in Sydney the Zabeel half sister (pictured left) to Mews sold for a staggering $1.3Million.
Others include Instructor, the Group placed Pins – Excelo gelding a half brother to multiple Group One and Derby winner in Xcellent. Warbucks, the half brother to dual Group One winner Perlin and Billson the lovely three year old Redoutes Choice – Tangerine Dream colt that from four starts has won two and run second twice.
Interlocking and Thames are wonderful examples of their multiple champion sire in Zabeel and show they are indeed destined for positive staying futures. Testa Rossa is also well represented with promising listed winner Tindal, recently gelded and looking forward to a bright future.
The horses have all had the benefit of recent preparations at the world-class facility in Macedon Lodge with the very best of care, handling and facilities available.
The decision to make the horses available through the Gavelhouse website had been given much thought.
Nick Williams stated, “We felt it very important to make these horses available to the widest possible audience and Gavelhouse seemed the perfect medium to achieve that aim.
“We have horses in all price ranges and they are priced to meet the market, we look forward to watching their careers with their new owners.”
