Lead up on Saturday was a funny race, don't know what to make of it. Absolute sprint home (34 seconds, slightly faster than they came hope in the 1100m Evright stks!). Makes Kidnapped's run look huge, but maybe he's more a miler who was suited by a sprint home?
Red Colossus was good, looks like the trip will suit. My first impression was he's a bit one paced, but couldn't say that now after he's won in a dead set sprint home.
Can't get sold on this lot though really, looking outside, maybe something like Rundle. Even the filly Danaupair Starlet, who'll be trained to the minute, and will unquestionably run the trip right out.

Rundle if dry and drawn half decent, Red Col if theirs a bit of rain about. I reckon Rundle could be every good though.

The last 600 in 34 was the sealer for me. I don't know how they can beat red colossus when he is able to peal off sectionals like that. They walked on saturday then sprinted home. If there is any pace on in the derby he just lobs out the back and sprints home. If there is no pace as with his past two wins, he just out sprints them. He just need a clear crack at them. Yep I'm a fan.

Be surprised if Second King doesn't run top 3 - looks well positioned.

If he can get it into the picture early enough he is a good e/w chance, this is because this horse doesnt possess an outstanding turn of foot, but can sustain a long more grinding run.
