Smart move. Take the money and run on a gelding.

Have never seen the horse in the flesh, but from what I understand of his personality, he may find it hard to settle in to the HK lifestyle.
Who will train him over there?

Lots a lot of money for a horse thats won a few ordinary races.
He is tallish without being solid, very nervy type, sweats badly usually the few times i have seen him.

Yeah thats what I have been told.
It will be intersting to see if HK calms him down or drives him even more crazy.
I suspect the latter but someone with $1.2 mill to spend on a horse disagrees, so....?

If you wait until a horse has a string of Group Ones you will pay a lot more than $1.2 mill, he does have enough on the board to warrant someone with squillions to pay $1.2 Mill for him, he certainly promises to go on with it and become a Group One winner, you certainly wouldn't be giving your last $1.2 mill for him! it is all relative to your financial position and what's around to buy and howbbaddoyouwannit!
