Jim Cassidy, sidelined since a nasty fall at Eagle Farm back in June when he broke an ankle and four ribs, returned to track work today at Rosehill.  He hoped to do some jump outs or barrier trials in the next ten days and then be back riding in early December.

Agree Sporty, what a loss N Williams was mate, when he was riding IN Brissy,
if i was ever losing, i would look straight for N Williams to get me out of trouble

Neil Williams was a top jockey, I remember him winning premierships in Brisbane, was the top rider there. I thought his move to the Gold Coast was based on lifestyle change.  what

No, he always lived on G Coast, would commute to brissy for races etc, as Sporty
said the bloke couldn't even get a Ride at the G Coast towards the End, from memory he went
Abroad to ride for a few Years & on returning just couldn't get a Ride Hardly,
He then was also going thru a Divorce & with his Career in tatters, just couldn't
handle things & took his own life, Deadset Shame, rip N Williams

My memory is a bit hazy bit i recall going to warwick farm one day. i backed 3 winners in a row and realised that Williams was on them all.
A quick look at the guide and I realised I had selected his next 3 rides.
being the mug that I am, I decided that jocks don't ride more than 3 in a day so i got off them.

I seem to recall all 6 won chin and I ended up losing my cash lol

Gee, not good news for the Pumper.

A neighbour of mine did a similar thing last week, but got just one of his fingers.  Same day I was pruning my own hedge and tested out the circuit breakers by cutting the power cord with the trimmer. sweat

DD,

I did the same thing---if it wasn't for circuit breakers both you and I would be in heaven---hang on---maybe you would.

Cassidy Recovering After Surgery To Severed Fingers
In Sydney, leading jockey Jim Cassidy "is recovering after undergoing lengthy surgery to repair 2 fingers he nearly severed in a gardening accident," reported The Daily Telegraph. Manager Matt Privato confirmed last night: "I spoke to Jim briefly & he seems to be doing pretty well under the circumstances. He hasn't seen the surgeon since the operation, but we are all hoping for some good news." Cassidy, 46, suffered the injuries when he was trimming hedges at his home on Monday & "remains hopeful of making a comeback to the saddle by the end of the year".
