Jim Cassidy, sidelined since a nasty fall at Eagle Farm back in June when he broke an ankle and four ribs, returned to track work today at Rosehill. He hoped to do some jump outs or barrier trials in the next ten days and then be back riding in early December.

Jim Cassidy will make his comeback from injury at Randwick on New Year's Day. Cassidy has not ridden in a race since his fall from Bonza Crop. He says it has been a very frustrating period and he's glad to be able to set a date for the comeback.

This guy has had more comebacks than Dame Nellie Melba. Anyway is set to return at Gosford next Wednesday, before going in search of his 100th Grop 1 victory this spring," reported The Daily Telegraph. Cassidy has "finally overcome the wrist injury that has sidelined him since April". He told the newspaper: "It's been a frustrating past 18 months with injury & it's driven me absolutely mad.

JA hasn't had too many rides of late. Wonder why?
I have a friend who won't hear a bad word about him, so I give him a bit of stick at times about his "bent mate, JAC". When he backs a loser, I say "well, what else did you expect?". He gets a bit cranky with me at times. Not a fan of his but still hate to hear of any jockey having falls and being injured.

HWNM He was riding at Eagle Farm today had three mounts for his long-time mate Nick Moraitis. I didn't know he started his Australia racing career in Brisbane, but only stayed three months. He's off the Ascot to ride Sniper's Bullet on Saturday.

Thanks Westie. Don't get a chance to look at midweek racing much these days, but have noticed on the weekend when he doesn't seem to have many rides. Just think it's a bit odd, especially when Tappy and Craig reckon he's one of the greatest jocks of all time. Oh yes, Grayham McNeice also is in love with him.

Somewhere midweek, I seen this very large lady give a jockey a big hug as he got of the horse. Nearly squashed the poor little bugger

If you'd backed every one of his nearly 5000 rides that started at 10/1 or less at SP, you'd be in front.
Those are pretty rare numbers, he can't be throwing too many.
If the money's on I'd have him or Beadman before any other jockey.
Reminds me a bit of the Fallon trial in the UK.
The evidence was along the lines that he tried to throw 30 odd races yet 8 or 9 of them still won. My only thought was, gee if he's throwing races, he's not very good at it.
