MagiC does this bloke have breathing difficulties ?

If he was trained in Japan he'd never start in a race under 2000m on pedigree.

He has suffered from the thumps on a few occasions, previously mate.

So we have decided to keep him to the shorter distances for the moment.

Larry has suggested he is better suited over the shorter distances also, so while he is racing well, we will keep him there I think.

Larry, said very unlucky from the gate, if he had of drawn a barrier, he thinks he should have won, but they probably all say that smiley

Also the horse is quite brilliant, maybe to brilliant, to get a trip.

Also he not really built like a stayer, but in saying that, last preperation, and the one before, we had hoped to get him over at least 1600m, but that was when he ran into problems.

I obviously only have the benefit of watching his races, but I reckon you have a top class middle distance horse there.

That horse that ran 2nd put 3 lengths on him at the top of the straight, Your bloke ran home like a horse that would appreciate alot more ground.

He is clearly a very good horse.

Yes, that is what we thought too Matt,

But the further the trip, the closer to the lead he is, and the more trouble he has hitting the line, but this is most likely a result of the thumps.

One thing of note, he had blinkers removed, and winkers added, today.

I think also too, he was knocked off balance with the second horse trying to get out, so took him a little to get balanced up again.

Barriers, may have cost him on his last two runs, hopefully we can draw an alley shortly

Why does Reizarb need any head gear ?

Would he settle better over further if he was not wearing anything that they don't have to wear ?

I would love to see this horse get out to a mile again he is real real good.

I'd be a prick of an owner.    lol

Would love to get the horse over a trip Matty, but he has a stack of problems, that will probably be detrimental, in getting him over a trip

I've got his run the day he was beaten 4.5L over 1610, as about his best effort on wfa adjusted ratings.

I agree with Matt.

I am pretty sure you will find that was the day he suffered from the thumps, pulled up terrible, and was spelled

Reizarb – The Horse That Beat The Odds
01-Sep-2009: Three year old colt Reizarb’s recent performances at the Sunshine Coast are shining examples of the courage of the thoroughbred, and the determination of racehorse owners to hang in there - and just keep trying.

You need a big heart to own racehorses, as Brazier family and Reizarb have proved. Reizarb should not be alive, but here he is streeting the opposition in consecutive wins in good company.

Reizarb showed promise in his first start, but later slipped on a cement surface, fell and smashed his jaw. The injury was so severe that Reizarb could not close his mouth and could not pick grass so had to be hand fed. His tongue kept drying out and his front teeth would not close.

A lesser horse would have died, and in fact, the youngster was not expected to live - but this gutsy colt pulled through. Twelve months later, in July this year, he bolted in at Corbould Park, and repeated the dose at his next start.

Lloyd Brazier always had a high opinion of the Reizarb, so much so that he named the horse after himself – Brazier spelt backwards.

Lloyd had waited 20 years to find the right horse to give that name and judging by these recent results this is certainly the right one!Reizarb is by the Kingmambo stallion King’s Best (USA) and is raced by Lloyd, Peter Marshall and an English owner who is also named Brazier.

Lloyd has no doubts that Reizarb can keep on winning.

“I think he will get better over longer trips and on top of the ground,” he said.

“It’s a great story because I bought him when he was only young. We’ve been through a lot of heartache with him but let’s hope it is all behind us now.”

Don't worry, have discussed this with the old man,

And a part that was discussed, was, it is easier to step a horse up from the 1100m's ,than to step them down from the mile, if hings don't pan out.

ATM, he is racing well and consistant, with out much luck, over the shorter distances, and while he is racing well, over the shorter trip I think he will probably keep him there.

Larry also thinks he is better suited over the shorter trip, but that is not to say, he won't step up later down the track, but ATM, he will keep him where he is happy I think wink

The problem is, if you step him up to the 1600 again, and he suffers the thumps again, you can call his preparation over Undecided

shorter trips probably sui him better because of the pace on which brings him into the race easier .

Yes richo, allows him to hit the line, when they go quick up front, which you don't often get over longer trips

Good luck Magic
