The BRC Medal is awarded to the jockey who scores the highest points from a team of judges.  Bart Sinclair, Wayne Wilson and Les Harris allocate points each Saturday metro race day on a 3-2-1 basis.

Larry Cassidy got away from the field with his recent 4-winner bag at Doomben.  On that day he scored the maximum of 9 points.

Final scores are:

Jim BYRNE 102

Stathi KATSIDIS 100

Glen COLLESS 57

Michael CAHILL 49

Chris MUNCE 47

Shane SCRIVEN 35

Jason HOLDER 34

As I already suspected, the judges decision this week confirms that the whole thing is a joke.

For ALL judges to say Scriven's ride on Scenic Shot was the best of the day is nothing short of ludicrous.

I would have been surprised to see 1 judge vote for it let alone all of them.

I congratulate Shane for the win, but he was handed it 

If this "award" wasn't already a joke, it is now

Do you honestly think it was the best ride of the day???
