1st Prize (biggest profit) is $500 - courtesy of TABCorp

Like last time, I will put up a one third share of a $40 quaddie for the best Win Strike Rate and one third share for the best Place Strike Rate.

There have been some generous offers in the past for prizes (shares in quaddies or sports bets, etc).

If anyone wishes to donate a prize, can I suggest 2nd and 3rd place in the profit competition. Very big achievement to run a place and goes unrewarded.

can offer a prize of tickets for 2 - any day outside of slipper day - at the rosehill number one club lounge - may not be great for those out of nsw but will leave valid until say 30 June 2011 so hopefully can be utilised by most.

for those that haven't heard about it visit

Very well done guys, in particular PW and Tabcorp for their support.  Thumb Up

I believe I'm getting a new set of darts for Fathers Day so I might have to have a stab at this.

Draft set of Rules and Guidelines for discussion. (have to have these because the prizemoney is a bit more serious than it normally is).

1.  Between 1 and 4 selections are to be made on Saturdays between 4th September 2010 and 6th November 2010 (inclusive).
2.  Selections can be taken from any race in the main metropolitan meeting in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane or Adelaide.
3.  A hypothetical $10 win is placed on all selctions on the NSW TAB.
4.  Selections are to be made as a block and posted by 2 p.m., or 10 minutes before the scheduled starting time first selection, whichever time is earliest.
5.  Replacements may be made for scratchings, but the 10 minute rule (3) applies. Adjustments for scratchings are permitted after 2 p.m.
6.  Substitutes may be nominated in the original block of selections.
7.  The convenor of the competition may rule individual selections invalid if they do not meet the rules in regard to posting times.
8.  For the purposes of measuring posting times, the seconds are ignored.
9.  Selection postings may not be edited. The convenor reserves the right to exclude or permit edited postings.
10. In the event that a selection is posted with a name not matching the Race and TAB number, then the name is used as the selection. The convenor reserves the right to categorize a selection a "ambiguous" and remove the selection.
11. If more than 4 selections are made, then the first four selections are taken and the rest discarded.
12. If one selection is removed because of a time transgression or ambiguity, the remaining selections stand.
13. To be eligible for prizes, players must have made at least 15 selections in the duration of the competition.
14. Disputes can be referred to the panel of adjudicators if the player disagrees with the ruling of the convenor.
15. The adjudicators have the right to disqualify a player from the competition if they break forum rules.
16. The decision of the adjudicators is final.
17. By participating in this competition, the player agrees to abide by the above rules and regulations.

For this competition, I am the convenor, and our panel of adjudicators is MagicC, Chuggers and myself (PoisonPen7).

General Notes

- No Friday nights or Sundays will be included in this competition.
- If an alteration or clarification is made to your tips, please quote the original post.
- Requested format of selection postings (makes my job easier)

SR6 #2 Metal Bender
MR7 #4 Shoot Out
BR8 #1 Ulladulla
AR5 #7 Woodland Jack

Please, not

Sydney
R6 #2 Metal Bender
Flemington
Race 7 4 Shoot Out
etc,

and not

Rosehill Race 6 2 Metal Bender
Mel Race 7 h 4 Shoot Out
etc.

By sticking to the correct format, it will allow me to print a summary during the day in race and venue order.

Not a show stopper if someone forgets.

I would add that original posting (selections) must be quoted  if adjustments ie scratchings  are made after 2.00pm, otherwise you will find yourself going forward and backwards looking for updates.

PP, I'm happy to throw in a $50 share in one of my place challenges.

Second highest profit is fine by me, if that's your wish.

That's very generous of you DD.

I'll put that down for 2nd prize in the profit comp, and praiseworthy's two tickets as the 3rd prize (thanks pw).  Thumb Up

No, good point Geoff.

The rule is intended to cover the situation (which happens quite often) where the poster quotes the wrong race, or puts down the wrong number. If they enter a name, then the name is taken as the selection and the race number/TAB number is corrected to reflect the name.

If the poster simply puts down a horse's name with no race number and no tab number, and it is a dual acceptor, then that is not covered by the rules.  chin

However, in such a situation, and unless the horse runs in two races on the same day (and those of us old enough to remember will remember Some Idea in Brisbane in the 70's? and one of Jack Denham's in the 80's), then that situation would sort itself out. Would it not?

I know commonsense will prevail, however reading this literally, you could argue that regardless of the race or the Tab number, the horse's name will be the selection.

"with a name not matching the Race and TAB number, then the name is used as the selection."

So if I select Radish in Race 6 and he starts in Race 8 I could argue that according to the rule I've selected Radish.

"with a name not matching the Race and TAB number, then the name is used as the selection."

So if I select Radish in Race 6 and he starts in Race 8 I could argue that according to the rule I've selected Radish.

For example, if Radish is a dual acceptor in Races 6 and 8. He is scratched from race 6 and runs in race 8. He is topweight for both races.

1. Your posting for the selection is:

Sydney - Radish

If he is scratched from Race 6 and runs in race 8, then you are given Radish in race 8 under the rule.

2. Your posting for the selection is

SR6 #1 Radish

Your selection is scratched because you have posted the correct race and tab number i.e. selection stands, and the rule is not invoked. You do not get Radish in race 8.

3. Your posting for the selection is:

SR7 #1 Radish

Now here is a situation not covered by the rules. I would deem this situation to be "ambiguous", and remove the selection.

Will add a rule to cover this. Well picked up Geoff.
