My Blue Denim, remember him well, Dave O'Sullivan thought Peter Cook hooked him in the Melbourne Cup, (Beldale Ball beat him in 1980)was a Good thing beaten but I don't believe Cook deliberately hooked him, he did win a BMW(not sure what it was called back then)

it's had a lot of name changes over the years, been the Tancred Cup(handicap), then the Tancred Stakes (WFA), the Mercedes, then I think Sorbent sponsored it for a while, knew all the names(or most just not the timing or chronological order!
