Great field - potential Epsom - Toorak - Cox Plater winners nommed. But in the here and now just top horses.

Can MJ do it against the boys? Gets a reasonable chance here. Trusting second up hard to toss.

Looking for to seeing how Rothesay ahndles the class.

I think he will. Mind you, his 2 cronies who looked good in the winter have flopped.

I'm willing to forgive Tromso Willy, butchered 1st up and hard to sack anything that raced on that track last week  chin

Theo Marks Re-Named Sebring Sprint
Tara Madgwick
Monday, 6 September 2010

Widden Stud has sponsored several races in recent years that have been re-named in honour of our young sires with the Group Two STC Theo Marks Stakes at Rosehill Gardens this Saturday to be run as the Sebring Sprint.

“We are delighted to be involved in this type of race sponsorship with the Sydney Turf Club and a high quality sprint run at Rosehill where Sebring won his Golden Slipper seemed ideal for us,” said Antony Thompson.

The Group Two Sebring Sprint will be run over 1400 metres under quality handicap conditions and has attracted 14 nominations which include Group One winners More Joyous, Snipers Bullet, Black Piranha, Skilled, Dealer Principal and up and comers Rothesay, Brilliant Light and Trusting.

A Golden Slipper winner and Champion Two Year Old, Sebring (pictured) has been extremely popular since retiring to Widden Stud in 2009 covering 190 mares in his debut season.

His first foals have won rave reviews with a selection available for viewing on the Widden Stud sponsored Breednet Foal Galley, click here to see his foals.

Yeah it's going to take a bit to think of it as the Sebring Sprint - as good as he was  Thumb Up

With weights out MJ gives Rothesay 2kg and Trusting 1.5kg - if she can win that she'll be looking exceptionally talented mare. Is it impossible ?

No it's not, it will only last until a better offer comes along.

He won the AJC sires as well didn't he?? that is still a Group One isn't it?? I do agree that it is weak form, still any one that wants to put up the money can name the race anything they want, if a Tampon manufacturer wanted to sponsor the race they would call it the Tampon stakes, wouldn't they? So think ourselves lucky at least Sebring was a fairly good racehorse and not a women's you know what!!

Still maintain Trusting is overrated - will be dissapointed if the mighty mare doesn't beat him home.

my opinion has always been that he's been overhyped and i have laid him reguarly-
off a slow pace i thought his effort was top class 1st up- and must admit surprised me - looks to have come back very well and reassessing my thoughts on him -
But against more joyous  - got her a mile ahead

I couldn't back Trusting but equally I couldn't back More Joyous either, not that I don't think she can win, just hard to see bookies risking her and she will be in the red and I can't take red figures about a horse jumping substantially in class
