I remember talking to Brian Mayfield-Smith once and he told me the one thing he hates about training racehorses is you can spend months even years nurturing and training a horse to the peak of its form and that last little bit a couple of minutes right at the end you have to hand it over to someone else to finish(the Jockey) and they can stuff up the whole thing, months of planning down the drain, then they just come out and get on something in the next and forget about it, while your left to pick up the pieces!
