From Google comes the information that the name is from a film about a golfer who makes a comeback from a shadowy life as a drunk outcast.  (Thought that was John Daly  )

By Gilded Time from the Rory's Jester mare Fluoro, he was bred at Vinery and had to be retired after two unbeaten outings in 2003 over 1000m at Moonee Valley.
