Good luck to the Hawkes team with this promising horse after her 2nd win from two starts yesterday,we raced her talented mum Liberty Rose and a major stud stated she was at the time the best looking mare on the grounds, her first foal Grande Jardin bought 1.05 mill at the MM sale he was put in proving she threw a good type but the Hawkes paid the bargain of 210k for Pontiana with the patience of the Hawkes team I can see her going onto winning a very good race.Good girl Libby.   Thumb Up

A good run from the girl after sitting 3 to 4 wide most of the trip was pushed even further out and ran home hard to get 3rd first up from spell, will improve and now has a black type placing to add to her stud value.

Another great run by the 3yo against the more seasoned older mares to finish 3rd after being slowly away and getting pushed back when the field slowed she finished hard to beat Culminate for 3rd after Culminate seemed to have a good run,Pontiana beat her aunty Kanzan home.I hope soon to see her brother Revenge on the track, also in the Hawkes team but he cost 700k a bit like her other brother that cost 1.5m looks like the boys bring the big prices while she cost 210k. chin

Pontiana resuming tomorrow I missed her barrier trial last month but as she is a trier I would imagine a fair run first up,once again against the older group mares.

Nice try by Pontiana today,I've never heard of the lad who rode her and he didn't do a very good job imo,she was like a drunken sailor but beat her Aunty Kanzan again and ran 2nd.

Have to say I'm glad it didn't win - had it down as a bet then let it go because the kid couldn't claim.
