Behkabad, trained by Jean-Claude Rouget,
remains on top of the antepost odds just days before the event. The
colt has started in four professional races thus far, winning two of
them and coming third once. Unbeaten in his last two consecutive starts –
the Grand Prix De Paris and the Prix Niel – Behkabad appears to be in
excellent form and his connections are confident he will make a strong
impression in the Prix De L’Arc De Triomphe. Although no jockeys have
yet been announced it is assumed Behkabad will be taking to the track
under Christophe Lemaire.
Four-year-old Fame And Glory is champion trainer Aidan
O’Brien’s contribution to the Prix De L’Arc De Triomphe. The
colt has not been beaten in his last four consecutive races, all under Johnny
Murtagh who will also be riding Fame And Glory in the
Prix De L’Arc De Triomphe, and looks to be at the height of his
form. One of the colt’s biggest victories was recorded in the Coronation
Cup at Epsom in June, but the Prix De L’Arc de Triomphe would be the
crowning glory for Fame And Glory indeed.
Sir Michael Stoute’s Workforce may not have as
impressive a resume as his two co-favourites, but he has been showing
excellent form in training over the past months. The three-year-old colt
has not competed professionally since July this year, when he failed to
perform well in the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot
due to injury. However, Workforce is now in ideal shape
and his connections are hoping for a spectacular comeback in the Prix
De L’Arc De Triomphe.
