As luck would have it myself & the good wife will be in Paris on the 3rd October & are keen to go to the races.
Has anyone been to this event & if so is there any information you could pass on to a novice traveller who's never been to the Arc before?
I have tried accessing the official site to get tickets but it is hopelessly slow in loading.
Also I have noticed that general admission is 8 Euro but "on sellers" want up to 40 Euro per ticket & there's no gurantee the tickets would arrive in time.
Any other advice greatfully received - thanks

Arc is on Sunday (French time...Monday our time?). Latest market:

Bet365 Betfair 888Sports Runner
7-2 4-1 3-1 Behkabad
9-2 11-2 5-1 Fame And Glory
5-1 11-1 11-2 Workforce
6-1 6-1 5-1 Planteur
7-1 9-1 7-1 Cape Blanco
8-1 11-1 8-1 Sarafina
14-1 16-1 14-1 Youmzain
16-1 NA 16-1 Lope De Vega

Behkabad, trained by Jean-Claude Rouget, remains on top of the antepost odds just days before the event. The colt has started in four professional races thus far, winning two of them and coming third once. Unbeaten in his last two consecutive starts – the Grand Prix De Paris and the Prix Niel – Behkabad appears to be in excellent form and his connections are confident he will make a strong impression in the Prix De L’Arc De Triomphe. Although no jockeys have yet been announced it is assumed Behkabad will be taking to the track under Christophe Lemaire.

Four-year-old Fame And Glory is champion trainer Aidan O’Brien’s contribution to the Prix De L’Arc De Triomphe. The colt has not been beaten in his last four consecutive races, all under Johnny Murtagh who will also be riding Fame And Glory in the Prix De L’Arc De Triomphe, and looks to be at the height of his form. One of the colt’s biggest victories was recorded in the Coronation Cup at Epsom in June, but the Prix De L’Arc de Triomphe would be the crowning glory for Fame And Glory indeed.

Sir Michael Stoute’s Workforce may not have as impressive a resume as his two co-favourites, but he has been showing excellent form in training over the past months. The three-year-old colt has not competed professionally since July this year, when he failed to perform well in the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot due to injury. However, Workforce is now in ideal shape and his connections are hoping for a spectacular comeback in the Prix De L’Arc De Triomphe.

I reckon Cape Blanco is a good thing.

He was Might And Powerish the other day and if he goes like that again there is nothing in the race with that class.

Light rain falling here in Paris right now & the outlook into Sunday is more of the same. I'm guessing the race will be run on dead to slow track.
Workforce at $6 could figure in the finish & is my early tip. So that probably makes him a lay LOL

Found out I can get tickets at the gate for 8 Euro............cheaper than getting into the races in Aus!

Anyway very much looking forward to the big day....

I'll echo Steves Thoughts Kato - best ofluck and I think your on the right track with Workforce, this will be a more properly run race compared with the King George and Workforce will enjoy that.

I am not as excited by Cape Blanco on the likely damp track, hopefully todays mediocre racing will not ruin the track for tomorrow.

Thanks for your thoughts Steve & Authorised.
The rain stopped 5 minutes after I last posted & today (Sunday morning)  is blue sky, no wind & mild. I didn't see any of the races from Longchamp yesterday. You guys back in Aus with Sky can access the races here easier than I can - go figure. Would have gone to the races but the better half was intent on shopping ...grrrr
Workforce is $7 fixed odds atm with Fame & Glory $5 & Behkabad $5.50 courtesy of NSW tab.
Still very hard to get any decent form in English but I at least know that Workforce is King's Best from Soviet Moon & even though he hasn't started for a while I'm sticking with him.

Tough win.

What a simple and brilliant idea that front on view with the lanes is.
