We saw Foreplay 3yo HAVATRYST win the Open 3yo at Doomben today at just his second start.  On debut he'd demolished a field of questionable quality in a mid-week Mdn at EF.

While he scored in a nail-biting finish today, it was the manner in which he won that had observers talking.  Heavily backed into favouritism on the wet track, he was hunted out by Munce from an outside draw.  He didn't get an easy lead, and was taken on by several in the straight.  But he showed rare courage to get the prize from smart filly Wonderful Lass.  Some were asking whether he'd been comfortable on the wet surface.  If he wasn't, it's bad news for his opponents.

One of our forum mates is in the ownership of HAVATRYST and cleaned up today.  (I'll leave it to him to identify himself.)  Suffice to say he enjoys a beer and I expect will be doing that right now.   lol

So, does the name indicate some desire by Mono?

Mono, you are a bigger flirt with the girls than me.   Vadim usually hugs the trainer.  At least you have taste.

Don't expect me to Havatryst when I've got the missus standing close by.  lol

As for vadim hugging the trainer ,well you must excuse him...he's a Kiwi.

I am told Vadim keeps sheep on the resort at Cleveland.  Hopefully only for keeping the lawn down and the odd BBQ.  But why does he need to hug trainers....oh hang on, the trainer is a Kiwi too isn't he?

He's in again on Saturday.  Not a flash draw, but much better off than some of the main opponents.

Great chance again, and best of British to the south-side chapter. beer
