The games at Delhi jolted my memory reading about  Australian jockeys spending many years riding for the Marajahas in India.

Edgar Britt,Garney Bougoure,Ted Fordyce and others

That was then, this is now, and Hong Kong has replaced India as the honey pot for our riders wanting to try the overseas experience.

Googleing horse racing in India I came up with this site, which has lots of features that Australian punters don't get at home.

http://www.indiarace.com/TurfClubs/turfclubs.htm

We could and should do better.

I never take the risk when that sort of warning comes up.
Perhaps I am being too careful

Indian horse racing is alive and flourishing, Ive got a mate from the Uk who has set himself up as a bookmaker in India, 90% of the betting there is underground but the turnover is very big.

You do not hear about Indian racing much becuase it is not supported by the government with internet gambling and such. There is moves to legalize online gambling in India which will send the product through the roof. I did some trading on Indian racing using the site you mention as a tool a few years ago and it is a very good form analysis tool. Leaves Australian form sites for dead.

The quality of horses that race there are very good. Corruption and race fixing are a bit of a concern at a few of the tracks but mostly it is a fairly level playing field.

A lot of the major studs there have really strengthened their broodmare lines over the last few years and there is one sire of particular note RAZEEN who would mix it with the best anywhere in the globe. He is from Northern Dancers 1987 crop out of a half sister to Private Account.

Wasn't there an Australian jockey that almost caused a riot at one of the Indian tracks a few years back, beaten on a well fancied galloper?  I just can't find the details at the moment.
