Moonee Valley staging Punter of the Year competition

The Moonee Valley Racing Club is calling on all keen punters to take part in a unique betting competition – the inaugural Radio Sport 927 Premier Punter of the Year.

The event will be staged at Moonee Valley on Saturday July 14 – Dominant MacDonald Steeplechase Day and will offer punters the chance to win great prizes.

The winner(s) will receive an all expenses paid trip for two for three nights to New Zealand and will be invited to compete in the New Zealand Punter of the Year at the Group 1 Kelt Capital Stakes race meeting at Hawkes Bay racecourse on October 6.  The winner(s) will also be presented with a $1,000 phone betting voucher from Tabcorp plus a specially engraved Cox Plate replica trophy valued at $2,000 courtesy of Renown Silverware.

There’s an option to play solo or as a team at the exclusive Premier Punter Party in the Sunline Suite at Moonee Valley.

The format of the competition is simple:

• Syndicates to comprise from 1 to 10 people with each Syndicate starting with $1,000.

• Free entry and racecourse admission, finger food will be provided for four guests per syndicate.

• Additional guests are $20 per person

• Each syndicate must spend a minimum of $100 per Moonee Valley race with 8 races on the program (Betting Slips will be numbered)

• The Syndicate with the highest return on their investments will win the Radio Sport 927 Premier Punter Trophy

Terms and Conditions:
1. Syndicates to comprise from 1 to 10 people with each Syndicate starting with $1,000.
2. Entry into the competition, racecourse admission and finger food is complimentary for the first four players of each syndicate.
3. Entry, racecourse admission and Finger Food for additional guests is $20 per person (maximum of 6 extras)
4. Each syndicate must submit their $1000 betting money beforehand at least an hour before Race 1 @ 12.15pm (betting money can be submitted to MVRC Customer Service in the lead up or at the Sunline Suite on the day).
5. Each team will have their betting vouchers numbered and monitored for the day.
6. Each syndicate must spend a minimum of $100 per Moonee Valley race with 8 races on the program.
7. Remaining monies could possibly be invested in Flexi Quaddies, Daily and Running Doubles, Flexi Trifectas, etc.
8. All bets on the day must be on races at Moonee Valley from Races 1 – 8.
9. No additional funds can be added to the competition.
10. The Syndicate with the highest return from their investments will be declared the winner of the Radio Sport 927 Premier Punter competition and will receive the Radio Sport 927 Premier Punter Trophy, $1000 TAB Betting Account, a trip for 2 to New Zealand for 3 nights including return economy airfares, accommodation and tickets to the Kelt Capital Stakes at Hawkes Bay Racecourse and entry in to the ‘NZ Punter of the Year’ contest (Saturday 6 October 2007).
11. There will be a prize to the syndicate that generates the highest return from a single investment.
12. There will also be spot prizes given out throughout the day that includes; quality electrical goods and Crown Promenade Accommodation.
