A gold chain and a bike if you can pick the winner of this race.

Good luck with Funtates guys. Looks good value each way.  Thumb Up

I can just see The Sixties and The Jackal charging down the outside like they did a few weeks back. Forestreno just loves this type of race and is a good place chance. And something deep down in my soul is telling me to have $2 each way on Ulladulla. But you cannot back them all. Might be one to concentrate on the doubles and quaddies.

I won't be backing Ghetto Blster on the wet track. I reckon he needs one more run to peak.

The rest of you should back him seeing as though i've jumped off

I suspect Ghetto Blaster is fully fit after two runs.  The last was a bottler.  I have seen it run OK on a bog track at the Coast.  Slowly edging down in the wgts too.  It can easily win and looks a safe place bet to me.

George Moore Stakes transferred
Date:
Saturday, 4 December 2010 5:49 PM

Industry:
Thoroughbreds

Due to the abandonment of races three through eight at Eagle Farm, Racing Queensland Limited has decided to reallocate the Group 3 George Moore Stakes to next Saturday’s program, December 11. Fresh nominations will be taken and the normal deadlines apply.

In conjunction with this RQL has also put on two extra races at Doomben this coming Wednesday, December 8.

·         3YO Handicap 1615m worth $25,000

·         Class 6 Plate 1200m Worth $25,000

Fresh nominations will also be taken with the nomination and acceptance deadlines both due Monday, December 6 at 9:00am

It's a shame the Listed Mode plate has been abandoned.  A few upset connections at the track yesterday.

Can Vadim keep his barrier or does he go back into the draw?

Dead track and she can't be beaten. Heavy track, like on the weekend, and Temple of Boom would have been terribly hard to beat. It was a certain quin with those two and tri with Welkom Gold though.

So I reckon it is a good result for Funtantes, assuming the horse is ok and can turn up in 7 days in the same nick. Serious horse. I really like her. Probably not as much as Vadim but I am still a big fan

I doubt that connections - let alone the horse itself - would agree to the sex change. nowink

Plenty of discussion on the decision to take new acceptances for the re-run.  I guess we'll know the answer after the barrier draw on Thursday. wub

Monday, 6 December 2010:

Star Queensland sprinter Burdekin Blues has been entered for the rescheduled George Moore Stakes but continuing rain in Brisbane is likely to delay his return again.

Trainer Barry Baldwin's preferred option for Burdekin Blues' comeback would be a 1000m race but there are none programmed.

The Group Three George Moore Stakes (1200m) has been added to this weekend's meeting at Eagle Farm after Saturday's racing was abandoned early in the day.

"We're treading lightly with him," Baldwin said.

"The race now being a week later makes it a bit better but he won't start if it's wet and it looks as if it is going to be that way most of the week."

Burdekin Blues won the 2009 George Moore Stakes but has since endured operations to remove bone chips from both knees.

If he doesn't run on Saturday, the Bat Out Of Hell (900m) at the Gold Coast on New Year's Day is among the leading options.

Baldwin has not committed Burdekin Blues to a specific autumn campaign.

There were 23 entries taken for the George Moore on Monday, the same number as last week but with a slightly different make-up.

Lyncean Academy, Ulladulla, Facile Tigre and Tierqualo were not re-nominated with newcomers Bold Glance, Gundy Son and Lucky Luna and Equable taking their places.

Burdekin Blues racked up four consecutive wins last spring-summer but his knee issues were discovered after he was unplaced in the Lightning Stakes at Flemington.

Phelan Ready, winner of the 2009 Golden Slipper, is also among the entries along with Magic Millions-bound Temple Of Boom, a winner at Flemington last month.

Corey Brown rode Temple Of Boom in Melbourne and was due to ride him at the abandoned meeting on Saturday.

Larry Cassidy will take over this Saturday with Brown committed to riding at Rosehill in Sydney.

Among the George Moore entries is Joint Chiefs but trainer Brian Wakefield is covering as many bases as he can with the sprinter.

Joint Chiefs is an acceptor at Doomben on Wednesday and is also among a host of Queensland-trained nominations for Saturday's meeting at Rosehill.
