NZ racing deserves it's own post I think for stories and racing info.

I'll go a little left field in that race, the first up stayer that's been racing in Australia, trained by Murray Baker at Cambridge...number 8 LION TAMER should be close to $10 and has won first up before. Michael Coleman to ride.

Dowager Queen wins over 1200 on Saturday at Wanganui. An Oaks filly in the making.

Also liked the runs of Keep the Peace and Harris Tweed at Melbourne. Could both be in for good spring.

Jimmy Choux looks a worthy Cox Plate favourite after winning again on Satruday. Any horse that can make up that amount of ground on a frontrunner's course is special, indeed.

People will right him off through the red Ruler formline but Red ruler is a very different horse back in NZ than he showed here.

The Kiwis could be in for a good Melbourne spring. Jimmy Choux (Cox Plate), Lion Tamer (Cups), Dowager Queen (Oaks) and Sangster (Derby) all look realistic chances.

Congrats to the little trier Atomic Force, 4 wide whole way and ranges up and wins his second G1 easily!!
Well done Mr Smith.
From the family of Encounter, he is a little ripper.
Bugger Hong Kong, this is a great little consolation, with another winnable G1 in a while for him over there.
Good stuff.
Also good for Dubai's Choice his interesting near relative low level sire who went for 1.8 mill as a baby.

Absolutely - great effort - and must be reasonable hope of the double.

FYI this site is good for NZ news http://www.theinformant.co.nz/racing/

David Walsh is on absolute fiii-errr at Greymouth today, ridden 5 winners so far 3/1 9/2 1/1 10/1 5/1 age shall not weary the veteran, nor the years condemn  And another veteran celebrating his birthday today won on a 5/1 shot at Awapuni aboard galaxy Star, N.G. (Noel) Harris, and over at Ellerslie, Masa Tanaka has bagged himself a treble including the first winner at $24 almost the bolter in the 8 horse field, when the result came up on sky with the winners name, the jockey's name was screened as NN, short for NOT NOTIFIED, must have been a last second engagement for even sky to not know who was on top  chin Jimmy Mac has also bagged his obligatory double at Ellerslie but they were on shorties.
