Chug I wish you did save me from backing MJ but alas I didn't listen, had a good bet on her ($200) would have been a lot more if it had been a good track, was lucky to save on Sacred Choice when the rain came and she was still $18,
Have made that Donation to the Cancer Council and increased it to $100 as I figured if I won they would have received that amount from you and didn't want to cheat them just because I was wrong

I have scanned the receipt but can't see how to copy it here? I am computer illiterate admittedly? how can I put a copy on here?

JP,

All good--no keep to post--your word is good enough for me--lets do it again sometime--all good banter and Cancer Council benefits.

Thanks Winner for sharing this insight in your post, with the forum.

Winner said "Where I choose

1.Class Horse,
2 Weight/Form Horse
3.Conditions horse (this is where your selection came in on Saturday)
4. Up and coming horse/most potential"

I do something similar but was not sure how to caregorise them, missing one or two of those categories  sometimes, and this will allow further tweaking and hopefully a higher hit rate in the future, but with the First Four Pool. I think the First Four is even harder than the Quadrella.

Yes, Pride is a smart young trainer.

Just to balance the accolades though, I suspect SC's talent on wet tracks was more a factor in her win than was her training. unsure

No doubt the wet track was the deciding factor, however, if the horse wasn't "set" for the race and at its peak on the day, it would not have won

Joe has now trained 2 Doncaster winners, a Doomben 10000, a TJ Smith Stks among his 7 Group 1 wins.
He has been training for around 10 years and has only ever had a relatively small team in work, most of which are tried horses/rejects.

Joe is one of the best trainers around Thumb Up
He also learned from one of the best.
He also picked up some things from John Size  lol

From what I saw there were about 17 horses trained to the minute.

Just a shame that some couldn't lift their feet in the mud.

Joe must be a very lucky man if it was only the wet track that won the race for him  chin

Got the same result with Vision And Power a couple of years ago, who had poor form before Joe got him.
Red Oog in the Doomben 10000 and TJ was also lucky as was Regal Cheer!

He consistently improves horses he gets from basically all other trainers
Not unlike his former boss JJ Size.

I wonder if he had gone to the Stradbroke barrier draw if you would have the same opinion of him??

I've no doubt JP considered himself a very lucky man when the rain tumbled down on Friday night.  Without that SC woulda probably run 10th.  And Bold Glance mighta been behind her.

Anyone who doesn't think JP is a smart trainer should take up another interest.

What's the Stradbroke barrier draw got to do with last week's Doncaster?

First Joe is a first class horseman and a great trainer but I am sure he would be the first to admit he has 2 horses that would be arguably the 2 best wet trackers in the country, Sacred Choice 3 wins from 4 starts on Heavy tracks Vision and Power 8 starts on the heavy for 5 wins and 2 placings, his 2 wins in the Donny were on Heavy tracks, his win in the Myer was also on a Bog, how does the saying go?? I would rather be lucky than good smiley
