Border Park Tweed Heads closed up for sale early 2010 probably sold by now.

It was good on holidays each Wednesday and Saturday.

And night harness racing in the good old days...gone and never to return. sad

Didn't know that it was gone.

Had to happen I suppose as it was a fair hunk of real estate.

We were in a SLSC just up the road at Bilinga and we would meet up with a few of the North Kirra and Kirra memebers at the track on a Saturday arvo.  Good days

Well fancy that today's Sunday Mail has results for Border Park from yesterday......no announcements about reopening that I've seen and it's just over the border from Coolangatta.

Good news for locals who like atmosphere which they don't get  in their lounge chairs watching SKY or TVN.

Haven't heard a thing about it and I live less than 5 minutes from the track. Used to have a fairly strong ring with Lloyd Merlehan leading the way.

Dogs are still on there & have the Galaxy programmed in a couple of months time.
A new track to built @ Murwillimbah to take the place of the Tweed has gone thru
council not sure of much more details than that.
So a good area to be in if you got dogs as I think Casino are getting a new track also.

Great to see Border Park still going as I backed Kingston Town at 40/1 with Laurie Brinknell ? had $2 on it.

He said how could you back that, TJ and think Malcom rode it.

Loved the track as could surf Kirra then walk over and have a bet with Rabbit.
