This case concerns a random act of violence against a defenceless woman who applied for criminal compensation.

The judgment details the essential facts and comes up with an award of $24K against the perp.

 It looks like the crim won't /can't pay but the government will pick up the tab which is good news for the victim.

IMO the award is a bit light on having regard to the circumstances.

So the criminal serves his time and is free and clear of the debt?........or will the government ensure he contributes........the same as any fine defaulter?

Sambo was sentenced to 12 months but was out on parole after only 3..........the Laws are tough in Qld.
