No , I don't want to start another PC on here but just want opinions on what is the best way to run them.

Good cheap way of having some fun.

I reckon you have to have a aim.  No use to keep betting till you lose your money.

What I do in a couple that I'm in is that we set a target and if we hit that target we distribute out profits up to that date and continue on.
This target could be $20/50/100/500 or whatever.

Smallest one I'm in is ten of us put in $100 and our target is $50.  We started on the 1st Jan and we have one $50 return so far.  Therefore so far so good on that one.

We have $20 per week and the same old story , if you win you bet again as well as the next punter.  Bank any profits.  Has worked for some years  and is good fun.

  Any other ideas?

I like the idea of betting half and banking half. If there was 5 of you, each throws in $20 a week, $50 bet and $50 banked. Usually payout the a divvie a couple of weeks before Christmas. Good fun and no matter if you win or lose there is a Xmas bonus at the end of it.

Ours is a contribution per fortnight, if you make a profit you bet again (set stake) and all winnings are banked. Whatevers left at the end of the year we use on dinner at a nice restaurant or an equivalent.

Was in a similar club when I was an apprentice, got to the turn of one of the office ladies a non punter who joined for the fun, she didn't have a clue one horse from another. She had a son named Darryl, a horse called Darryl's Luck was running so she plonked the lot on it. Needless to say it won at 100/1. She collected more for the club with that bet than the rest of the self proclaimed wizz kid punters did all year.

Henry, those things are what make PCs good fun.

I'm sure we all know of times when omen bets have got up.

One fun PC I was in we all had access to the Tab account we were using and we each had to put our own bets on when it was our turn.  If you failed to get the bet on by 10am sharp you were fined $20.  There were five of us in it so we would get a extra $5 from the offenders share when we settled. One bloke didn't get much at all biggrin .  He was the first to line up again the next time we had a go.

That idea only works with people you trust.  Maybe it depends on how much you put in as to who would trust.

Secret is all PCs have to be fun
