This bloke should have a thread of his own if he hasn't already got one.

A terrific Stradbroke trial run yesterday.
Admittingly he had every thing in his favour yesterday in regards to track conditions and he does excel at Doomben but the long wide straight at Eagle Farm will suit him even better I would imagine.

Don't think I have ever seen a faster finishing effort on a Brisbane track yet.

Rob Heathcote could be sitting pretty with 2 excellent chances in the Straddie.

Wasn't Consular's best win a listed race at Eagle Farm against a field of crap?
Did he even win a race in Victoria?

What a wonderful horse was CONSULAR.  Gee he had a finish when things went right.  Humped some big weights, too.

I started backing him in Melbourne as a 3YO.  I thought the $40 k sale price was a good deal.  He certainly paid for it many times over.

Was stiff not to have won a 10,000 from memory.

Beaten a head by Thorn Park in the Stradbroke.

Jackal

He actually won 6 races in Victoria before coming up here and something like $250,000. He also ran 3rd in the Gr2 Blamey Stakes as well as close up in other group races. He won 2 Summer Cups at the Sunny Coast and should have won a couple of Galsshouses. He still holds the course record for the 1400mts there.

I think he was a far better horse than your namesake.

both the Jackal and consular cracked the million    not many do that. Woorim is yet to but looks odds on to do so. isnt it funny how we knock good horses and riders.

fact, when you own a horse the maiden win is sweet  biggrin

Rumps

Couldn't agree more. It's great to win a race anywhere.

Yes but as an owner we would all take owning  a horse who has has won $1M + in prize money.

The champ had a workout with stablemate BUFFERING at EF on Wednesday.

Both will be off to the Oakleigh Plate before too long.

Hasn't Rodd been booked to ride Buffering?
From what has been written on here i thought he would be the last person offered the ride by the trainer.

Yes, he is riding BUFFERING.

The discussion's been about WOORIM and his ride in the Emirates - and no one's suggested Rodd is not a top flight rider.  Great Idea

  lol

Got to laught at that booking - you would have thought connections and half this form wanted Rodd lynched after the Emirates.

The champ has found a middle draw for tomorrow's speed test.

If track stays firm, and the speedsters show their stuff, you can look for him rocketing home into the drum.

You won't see him taken through a pack of slow coaches.

Good luck to owners, Heathcote and Browne. beer

Good luck to the jockey if he finds trouble in the run.
