This bloke should have a thread of his own if he hasn't already got one.

A terrific Stradbroke trial run yesterday.
Admittingly he had every thing in his favour yesterday in regards to track conditions and he does excel at Doomben but the long wide straight at Eagle Farm will suit him even better I would imagine.

Don't think I have ever seen a faster finishing effort on a Brisbane track yet.

Rob Heathcote could be sitting pretty with 2 excellent chances in the Straddie.

But super sprinter when things go right. Thumb Up

He was stiff in Melbourne, and deseved yesterday's win.

Yes he needs a decent penalty to get in or else win the direct entry race in a fortnight.

I reckon there will be plenty of noms for that QTC Cup.

The Straddie shaping up as an exciting race as it always is.

Captain Sonador has officially been retired.

There's another spot.

Provided Woorim gets a 1kg penalty he looks certain to make the field.

Browne suspended at Doomben
|

Saturday, 21 May 2011:

Damian Browne will miss the plum ride on Chateau Fort in the QCT Derby on June 11 after he was suspended for his winning ride on Woorim at Doomben on Saturday.

Browne pleaded guilty to allowing Woorim to shift out abruptly in the straight in the BRC Sprint and was suspended for seven meetings.

He was already scheduled to commence a careless riding at the end of the Doomben meeting which was due to expire on June 3 and stewards ordered the new suspension commence at midnight that day.

Browne will be able to ride next on June 14 meaning he will miss the bulk of the winter carnival features including the coveted ride on Chateau Fort in the QTC Derby and possible Stradbroke ride on Woorim should the horse gain a start.

"I also had nice rides lined up in the lesser events including Ready To Rip and Benfica in the QTC Sires if Kerrin McEvoy doesn't make it back in time," Browne said.

"But that's gone now. The penalty was fine - I pleaded guilty and I will go fishing."

But ya right.  She came home pretty fast. Thumb Up

Any word who's gonna ride Woorim in the Straddie?  what
You would think Eagle Farm would suit his style of racing better than Doomben. He should be charging home!

tears tears

Ouch, stuffs his chances I think unless he gets a miracle run through the field.

he'll have to settle at the tail now rather than perhaps mid field. I suspect he'll be giving away 20 lengths at some stage but the draw looks like a frantic pace is assured
