I think DANAGAZE has got a very good chance in this.

Stepping up in distance, but looks a likely stayer, and track should suit.

At a similar price is LITTLE STRANGER.  BJ has him going like a rocket.  Nice draw will have him wondering.

I will be attending the Cup Day on Saturday. Not sure about this field on first look. Didn't Warrior Within come 3rd last year at big odds?
The Hombre looks an interesting runner, not sure what happened to him in city last start.

Results are all in the looking back thread, Zoro.  I backed WW the drum at very long odds.  God bless his heart.

Talking to John Bary yesterday, all systems are "go".  The horse copped a bad whack in the scrimmage involving Moroney's horse at Dbn.  Sad, since they were 2 I had with the first 3 placegetters in the First Four. rant

Here's a run down on the contenders in the Royal Ipswich Cup run over 2150m.
I'll be attending tomorrow, hope the rain stays away. Will try to take a few pics.

1 Our Lukas has won the last 2 Cups but was in much better form last year. 3 Cups in a row would be a dream. He's unbeaten on track so that may help his chances.
2 Mr Clangtastic rang a nice 2nd behind Shootoff 2 starts back but then was btn by 22L.  Shrug Loves the wet.
3 Shuffle The Cash was a slashing winner at Eagle Farm & not a bad effort over the 2400m last time. He will be a popular pick, only concern he got beat as odds-on shot at a mid-week at Ipswich.  Undecided
4 Spechenka won the Summer Cup at Randwick last prep & had 2 runs in this time.  chin
5 Gold In Dubai won a 2000m race at Flemington in May which should throw him into the finish.
6 The Hombre only btn 3.5L in Doomben Cup so must be in the firing line as well.
7 Little Stranger is an 8yo who has been racing OK, maybe a couple L off these.
8 Teary Eyed has won 3 over dist & not a bad effort last start btn 3L at Doomben.
9 Arcenciel been racing in NZ, now trained at Sun Cst. Won by 5L at Sun Cst over 1600m & Munce stays aboard. ????
10 Danagaze has some OK city form & has been stepping up by furlong each run.
11 Warrior Within has been btn over 10L last 2 runs at 100/1+ odds.
12 American Gangster was btn 10L behind STCash & has not placed 3 runs on track.
13 General Mackjosh btn 10L & 8L recently at Casterton.
14 Patmoss ran 6th at Gatton btn 6L last start, hasn't won at 6 Ipswich runs.
15 Rambling On need to improve on efforts at Wagga & Eagle Farm when 50/1.

He was behind the leaders coming to the turn, when they compounded he couldn't get around them and was taken back to last, jockey just let him coast.

Obvious questions over ARCENCIEL.

Heathcote would have been thrilled with the draw for OUR LUKAS.  He's as puzzled as any of us at the horse's recent runs.  This race is totally different, though.  Once he gets rollin' along, he'll have us wondering why we left him out of our quaddie. lol

Well done, Tevez. Thumb Up

Great ride from Michael Walker, and full credit to Oakleigh Plate winner Mark Riley on his training performance with GID.

Commendable effort from DANAGAZE at his first run beyond 1800.  Got to remarkable odds mid-way through the betting.  OUR LUKAS turned in another honest effort under weight.  Some inglorious performances from a couple of the fancies.
