On another very sad and personal note,
Ledgends Origin player Dale Shearer buried his wife today Delyse Shearer age 39 after she succumb to liver cancer after battling it for 6 months on Monday.
She was an Extraordinary lady and we will miss her dearly rest her sole ;(
Here is a tribute paid to her by her loving family in the Sunshine Coast Daily
In a tribute decorated with hearts and flowers on Valentine's Day, the Shearer family said the mother of two and Dale's wife of 18 years was the embodiment of true caring and strength.
"Everybody dreams of having that someone special who is strong enough to be gentle, someone to lean on who could lean on me, someone giving, working and giving more for their family," the tribute read.
"We have a million memories that we will cherish forever and our dreams will come true in our tomorrows.
"Our love was deeper each day and that is where our heart is and always will be."
Delyse's funeral service will be held this afternoon at Tewantin, near Noosa.
Earlier in the week, Queensland Origin legend Shearer told the newspaper that the strength his wife had shown put footballers to shame.
"People think footballers are tough, but Delyse is the strongest and most courageous person I have ever met," Dale Shearer was quoted as saying.
"When she beat breast cancer she was just awesome, but this last fight - although it was only six months - was totally amazing. She put on such a brave front and did everything in her power to win to win the battle.
"Near the end I just could not ask her about the pain she was suffering. It broke my heart to see her suffer."
