Seems out of proportion seeing that it was medication........I'm assuming he'll appeal......stay of proceedings should be a given.

Just noticed he's not down for EF Sat.......maybe he hasn't applied for a stay and  intends to accept the suspension. shocked

What is the cost for an appeal and is it refunded + costs if successful?

$600 I think....if successful that is refunded .....but legal costs aren't awarded as far as I know.

The reason he would have got the time obviously had nothing to do with "performance enhancing"  read the directions on most strong painkillers, it will tell you not to drive a Vehicle or operate heavy machinery, pretty sure it would Say don't ride in races as well if they thought that was necessary, they would assume that most would have the common sense to know that without being told, it just might be a safety issue!

admittedly but where is the line? either you allow drugs or you don't, the rules are clear NO drugs, anything else and the lines would get fudged all the time, besides one drug can mask others, same with horses, a lot of drugs are therapeutic but should they be allowed? even the slightest trace and you are in trouble, feel sorry for him but unless you change the rules the stewards hands are tied, what would happen if they allowed pain Killers and a Rider was affected and caused an accident, the Clubs would responsible without having a leg to stand on and the Insurance companies would renege on their payments, racing clubs would crash, then trainers would have no where to train, they would lose everything they had worked for, horses would finish up in the knackery, Jockeys on Unemployement, do you really want that????? biggrin   biggrin

Found out he rode at Rocky so "drugs" must be out of his system & assuming there's an appeal coming.

i reckon its a joke, the bloke now has a DRUG offence on his record for ever,

could cost him ever getting a gig in Places like Asia etc,
Once you have a Drug charge the odds of securing a Contract Abroad are
Nill,
Since he had a letter form dentist etc he should of been exonerated imo
