Anyone have any idea whether this beautiful horse is on track for Melb again or is he out/gone/spelling?
Can't seem to find anything on web...excuse my ignorance if I've missed anything obvious.

Euroa should be fine for him.
As long as David stays at a distance  lol
If he is happy, wins BMW, why not do a Peter Pan and win next years cup, carrying 57 kgs.
I wonder who will ride him in Aus.?

Glad to see my judgement of this stallion lines up with a few others....

2011 World Rankings: Americain Top Stayer
The 2011 World Thoroughbred Rankings also confirmed the Gr1 Melbourne Cup as the world’s premier staying race. For the 2nd successive year, the highest-rated performance in a race greater than 2700m was produced in the Melbourne Cup, with 7YO entire Americain (Lomitas-Danedrop, by Danehill) rated at 123 for finishing 4th with 58kg, just 1.25-lengths behind the winning 5YO entire Dunaden (Nicobar-La Marlia, by Kaldounevees) who carried 54.5kg under the handicap conditions of the race. Americain's performance was rated superior to 3YO colt Orfevre (Stay Gold-Oriental Art, by Mejiro Mc Queen) who rate 122 in winning the Japanese St Leger, 3YO colt Masked Marvel (Montjeu-Waldmark, by Mark Of Esteem) on 121 for winning the English St Leger & 5YO entire Fame And Glory (Montjeu-Gryada, by Shirley Heights) also on 121 for his victory in the Ascot Gold Cup. Australia’s representative on the WTR Committee Greg Carpenter noted: “In winning the Melbourne Cup, Dunaden achieved a rating of 118, the 5th best performance in a staying race in 2011. The reason Americain rated considerably higher than Dunaden is because he conceded his rival 3.5kg, which equates to about 6-lengths over 3200m. In finishing only 1.25-lengths from Dunaden, Americain ran to a considerably higher rating & produced one of the best staying performances on the world stage in the last decade.” Only champion mare Makybe Diva (Desert King-Tugela, by Riverman) has achieved a higher rating in a staying race, when she was assigned 124 for carrying 58kg to victory in winning the Melbourne Cup for an historic 3rd time in 2005. Japanese champion Deep Impact also achieved a rating of 123 in winning the 2006 Tenno Sho (Spring) at 3200m. (Jan 12

Would it not be nice if ocassionally they got the breeding right!!!Last time I looked Americains dad was not Lomitas.

The pedigree they have there for Americain is in fact the pedigree of the Arc winner Danedream.  lol

I doubt it. Somebody is just starting a rumor on twitter.

David Hayes did nothing wrong with him in the autumn. The owners stuffed up trying to win a stallion making race.

I think it's fairly obvious that the horse has been inclined to be overrated, probably due to looks.

But a close look at the subsequent record of recent Melbourne Cup winners tells a different story.

Dunaden, best subsequent win        Hong Kong Vase
Americain, best subsequent win.     Sandown Classic
Shocking , best subsequent win.     Australian Cup
Viewed, best subsequent win.        Caulfield. Cup
Efficient, best subsequent win.       Turnbull Stakes
