I took $13/$4 (less deductions) last night Sister Havana on NSW Tab which turned out to be a nice price.

Both it and Elusive Port winning out of the same trial at EF.

Another enjoyable Grafton carnival - good crowds with a healthy ratio of racing people to partygoers. Even a large, crowded outdoor betting ring - all we needed was the manual bookmaker's boards and non-decimalised odds to really relive the good old days.

Yeah. And bring back the off-course SP bookie operations - like the one they used to have above the Grotto Capri at Kensington  lol

Sorry I missed it this year, but already pencilled in for 2012.  Thumb Up

Max Presnell's column today reminded me - one alarming development at Grafton was that under 18s were banned entry on Cup day. Never seen such a thing before, what a sad state of affairs.

Mate I was up there with you last year, and some of those young girls and what they were wearing - don't tell me you missed it this year!

And I'm sure most of them were drunk by the end of the day - probably a few angry fathers with unwanted grandchildren sent a posse around to the committee  lol

There are a few other tracks doing this on their big days now..Coffs Harbour has done it the past few years and i think Lismore as well..
Under 18's are allowed all other days if with a parent.

I went to Grafton this year as I have done for the past 10 yrs,  and have never seen it so quiet. Only good thing was I could actually get to the parade yard to have a look at the GG's and get a drink straight away.

Unfortunately my definition of "young" is now anybody under 45. So there was still plenty of "young" fillies adorning the scene - or so I'm told, as my attention was drawn to the serious matter of punting. But I must confess to looking up from the form guide when the Forex dance girls did their routine.  wink
