The second round of acceptances have been taken today for the 2012
Golden Slipper Stakes, which is due to run at Rosehill Racecourse on Saturday April 7, 2012.
Included in the 2012 Golden Slipper Stakes acceptances is
Mama’s Choice, who won her debut race start in the Listed Emirates Airline Stakes at Caulfield last weekend.
Trainer
David Hayes was overjoyed at the last to first performance executed by the two-year-old filly.
“She was pretty impressive, wasn’t she?” said Hayes.
“She joined in very quickly, put it away just as quickly, then switched off.”
Mama’s Choice is also nominated for the
$1 million Blue Diamond Stakes, which will run at
Caulfield Racecourse on February 25, 2012.
“She was a long way back off them, tracked through the corner really well and zoomed to the line,” jockey Dwayne Dunn said.
“The extra 100 metres of the Diamond will be ideal.”
Gai Waterhouse has also accepted for top filly
Driefrontein.
Driefontein won her last start in the $2 million Magic Millions 2YO Classic ahead of stablemate No Looking Back, who lost the race on protest.
Driefontein has now won all three of her career starts and has earned nearly $1.3 million in prize money.
No Looking Back is also included in the 2012 Golden Slipper Stakes second acceptances.
The
Redoute’s Choice filly has won one of her two race starts and earned close to $350,000 in prize money.
