The July Challenge has finished with a small profit.  I think that makes it 8 out of 10 rounds that have been winners for us.

Due to overwhelming response, we're starting off another one.

Share value is $50.  We have 34 shares taken, STARTING BANK = $1700.  Stake per day is $170.

Staking plan will be similar to previous Challenges.   There will be a series of 10 bets with a base unit of $5 each/per share.

Bets will be PLACE ONLY and will usually be on a Wednesday or Saturday on Brisbane races. I pick the horses, and reserve to right to back more than one horse.

1. For the first 5 bets (#1 to #5), any return from the bet is distributed evenly among the remaining bets, thus increasing the base stake beyond $5.  Say bet #2 gives a return of $16, we add $2 to the stake for each of the remaining 8 bets.

2. For bets #6 to #9, should they be successful we RETAIN THE STAKE, but distribute the PROFITS evenly among the remaining bet/s.

3. Obviously for bet #10 we keep any return.

Hopefully we'll end up with a share value of more than $50.  But there's a risk that I will lose a bit, or lose the LOT.

I'll post the bets on this thread, and keep a running sheet.

Bet #1 $170 - 06.07.11 RETURN =  $256 BANK = $1786 SHARE VALUE = $52.50
Bet #2 $199 - 20.08.11 RETURN = $196 BANK = $1783 SHARE VALUE = $52.50
Bet #3 $224 - 27.08.11 RETURN = $109 BANK = $1668 SHARE VALUE = $49
Bet #4 $240 - 03.09.11 RETURN = $291 BANK = $1719 SHARE VALUE = $50.50
Bet #5 $289 - 17.09.11 RETURN = $258 BANK = $1688 SHARE VALUE = $49.60
Bet #6 $340 - 24.09.11 RETURN = $291 BANK = $1348 SHARE VALUE = $48.20 [SAFE = $291]
Bet #7 $339 - 01.10.11 RETURN = $287 BANK = $1009 SHARE VALUE = $46.70 [SAFE = $578]
Bet #8 $337 - 12.10.11 RETURN = $476 BANK = $811 SHARE VALUE = $50.70 [SAFE = $915]
Bet #9 $406 - 22.10.11 RETURN = $242 BANK = $405 SHARE VALUE = $45.90 [SAFE = $1157]
Bet #10 $405 - 05.11.11 RETURN = $537 BANK = $0   SHARE VALUE = $49.80 [SAFE = $1694]

OK, we closed off today.  The bottom line is that we paid 20c per share for all that fun.  bop

We outlayed $2949 for a return of $2943.  shy

Didn't have a lot of luck, with wet weather and/or the prospect of wet weather doing some damage.

Will be in touch to arrange payment, or get advice on next move.

Hope there was a bit of interest for all players.

westie, I think that's a reasonable question.

At the time I had the bets I intended to split them between the two challenges.  Yesterday AM I thought, WTF, they'll both run a drum.  So I did it the way I did.  I guess you saw the race.  There's no doubt in my mind they should have run 1-2.

Also, I'm more confident in my ability to deal with you guys than with chuggers. lol

PS I'll get square next bet.
