Tomorrow sees the running of the Taree Cup with gazza Guru top weight on 57kg.  Last start he finished 3rd in the Coffs Harbour Cup beaten 1.5 lengths carrying 54.5 kg.  Southern Shimmer beat him by 1 length carrying 53 kg.  Tomorrow Southern Shimmer has 54kg.  So Gazza Guru gets beaten a length by Southern Shimmer and meets him 1.5kg worse for it.  Me thinks that the handicapper should be asked to please explain.

For the record, I reckon Gazza Guru will win anyway--he was the best of good things beaten at Coffs and from barrier 3 you would think he won't get trapped 4 wide without cover this time.

Taree cup meeting tomorrow (Sunday) has been cancelled due to inclement weather


Vo posted this but the NSW TAB is still showing the meeting  chin

Its off fellas (hometown). Went to calcutta last night and didnt draw a thing so bought two
nags (got southern shimmer cheap as chips). What happens now???

Southern Shimmer should have carried 50kg in that race based on his rating.  It looks like he was put up 1.5kg by the handicapper, but only from the 50kg, not the 53kg he actually carried.  Whether that is right or not, that is how it looks to me.
