I noticed you put up Huxley's tips for Seymour.  A old mate of mine sits up at the club and backs a media blokes tips something like this.

He takes the first five races and continues on if he gets any up.

So starting at race three from Seymour I'll see how he would have gone with these

3    5-1 win
4    6-1w
5    1-1w
6    8-1w
7    3-1w
8    4-
9    4-

This thread aligns with an idea I have had in relation to running some sort of competition on the Forum.  It is justthat I am too busy to do it but Grats, u may like to.

The comp is simple and goes like this.

1.  Runs for 10 meetings from 3 Sept and concludes on Sandown Cup day.
(however many that is and what the dates r no doubt will be worked out and which meetings will be stipulated)
2.  Each Forumite who enters tips 1 selection in each race as per the race schedule.  (9 races for the meeting = 9 tips)
3.  You may enter at any stage of the competition but late entrants will commence on zero regardless of the leaders score.
4.  Points will be alocated as follows:-

Tip a Winner  =  6 points
Tip a 2nd Place = 3 points
Tip a 3rd Place = 1 points
Tip an unplaced favourite = Lose 2 points
Tip an unplaced favourite that is Odds On = Lose 5 points

5.  All selections must be placed 10 mins prior to the official start time of first race for the meeting.  Therefore, if Melb start at 9:45 am EST you must have your tips in by 9:35 am EST.  Should there be a dual meeting in Syd on the same day and the first race time is 11:55 am, your tips must be in by 11:45 am.  So there will in fact be more time to get those tips in.
6.  The official clock is that of the Forum.
7.  No selections will be entertained after closing time.  (ie, if you forget you cant put in for races 5 - cool.
8.  No tipsters is allowed to edit their post.  A new post must be used to clarify any selections.  (purely for clarity)
9.  A Tipster who is registered with their intention to play or has previously posted selections that fails to provide tips for a particular meeting will be allotted the top weight (No.1 saddle cloth) in each race.  If the No.1 is scratched, then No.2 and so on.

That has been idea of mine and if someone would like to turn it into a reality, then please be my guest.

Thesmartman.

PS - in relation to prizes, I will throw in the first $50 and we can make it a cash prize maybe to coincide with the rest of the carnival.  BUt I am very sorry as I am just far too busy to pull this idea off.

Cheers

Sounds like a good comp mate, but I'm short of time on a Saturday myself.

  Hopefully someone will step forward.
