But seriously, if you pay the right bucks and also offer insentives one will
entice track jocks, also what happen to all the Japs, i thought the
place was infested with them,

Fine to say if you pay enough money, you will get your horses worked, but where does the money come from BW ?

All jokes aside, if a trainer can't afford to pay staff then obv he shouldn't be training chin

Apparently not a rumour,Richie has cleared his stables out and I notice three of his horses nominated this week with three different stables,I wonder if the Toowoomba track has anything to do with his decision?. :what:Good luck and health for you in retirement Richie.

Paying staff, and getting staff, is a totally different ball game BW.

If track work riders are scarce, somebody is going to miss out on getting their horses worked properly.

Some on here have a distorted view of the horse training business wink

What percentage of horse trainers do you think don't have to juggle their bills, waiting for owners to pay what

In a perfect world,  all owners pay their bills within 7 days, of receiving an invoice, but this isn't a perfect world.

Over the last 10 - 12 years, feed has doubled, farriers have doubled, stable rent has doubled, track fees have doubled, track riders have doubled, tripled their riding fees.

How much do you think most trainers have raised their training fees what

You may say, piss off the bad paying owners, but how, and who do you replace them with Shrug

Training race horses has become a very competitive game, and with the pressures of rising costs, it isn't going to get any easier

I can assure you Richie is a good payer.Any business he conducts either in racing or outside work being done for him,the cash is upfront.

that post was in no way directed at Richie, sorry if you took it that way. Ive found the guys who pay staff award rates and provide good working conditions get good staff and those who pay peanuts get monkeys. Then again the whole business model has to be working including owners coning up with the cash.

Like any business you have to be cut throat with your accounts or you will be used up as a trainer especially when it comes to owners paying for slow horses.
