The Voice America grand final was held last night,(on replay at the moment) with each judge having a contestant in the final, the winner was the only male to get through Javier Colon who was coached by Maroon5's Adam Lavine, runner up was Dia Frampton who beat two other females to get to be runner up coached by country artist Blake Shelton and Blake bought his new bride Miranda Lambert to do a duet with her. therethere
Christina Aguilera coached rough looking lesbian Beverly McClellan with the huge voice, and Cee Lo Green who is a rapper coached pocket rocket Vicky Martinez.
Ch9 is in talks to show The Voice Australia in 2012 and is in talks with Christina Aguilera,George Michael,Usher,Pink and Gwen Stefani to judge the show, how typical of Australia country is obviously not considered here Thumbs Down
Series two of The Voice America is due to start after the Superbowl on Sunday Feb5 2012 then transfer to a Monday night on Feb 6th 2012,so I don't know when it will start in Oz probably after the American final.

The American series two version of the Voice that started straight after the Superbowl smashed Idol And X Factor out of the ballpark with the biggest audience of a non sporting show in six years with close to 36 mill viewers, very clever timing of the new series,Cowall must be crying tears of blood with his show coming in third.Australia's ch9 has started promoting the Oz version of The Voice.

Pretty good effort to get Seal and Joel Madden out to be on such a show.

It seems that a few stars are now having a seachange to Australia of late.  First Leo Sayer, Delta's-ex Brian McFadden, Mel B looks to be heading here, Ronan Keating.

Pink has always called Australia her second home.

You have to wonder if Seal and Joel Madden are looking for that seachange as well........... chin

At last The Voice Australia has started :clap2:but I was very disappointed with the sound especially when the judges sang so brickbats to ch9 for sound,I think Seal will get the girls in but I'm a huge fan of Keith Urban so want him to win can't wait to see more.
My prediction is that when they give some artists a second chance the country singer/songwriter that no one turned around for will be invited back. chin

koolcat, Caught the 1st Aus show but didn't see any of the US version.
Not sure of the format, I was thinking 'the voice' would be the main thing but it looks like only being the 1st hurdle.  chin
Now they have been chosen by the Judges, I'm guessing they will be working on their image, clothes, presentation.

Of the judges I know Seal only from 'Kiss from A Rose' maybe a 1 hit wonder? Did he have any other songs?
Joel Madden?? what is he known for?
Delta Goodrem, poor Delta, she burst on the scene at the top of the charts about 10 years ago but seems to have not done much since?? Besides a failed relationship, she seems to be cruisng on that 1 album success. Also she seems a bit anorexic these days??  what
Keith Urban has been a very successful singer on the country scene in the US, not sure how well the public in Aus receive him. For mine, he's well known but doesn't seem to have any songs that people know but he seems like a nice enough chap.
Thumb Up

EZ yes selecting the team is the first hurdle but the coaches then have to steer the entrants into the whole music scene with improving their singing, style and confidence.
I have never purchased any albums of any of the coaches except Keith and that is because I know keith and have been told I have the best photo collection of him in oz and quite often get calls from people wanting photos for books or mags.
Joel Madden is part of Good Charlotte so don't know anything about him other than that and that he is married to Nicole Richie.I  like Seals wife model Heidi Klum but know nothing of his songs.

No, Seal is not a one hit wonder.  He is probably Britain's most successful soul/r&b artist with 28 singles and 7 studio albums.  He is best known for Kiss From a Rose and Crazy (Oh we are never gonna survive unless, we get a little Crazy) but his catalog is extensive and very successful on both sides of the Atlantic.  It's a big market but not so much in Oz.

IF you're a little confused as to how Channel Nine's new reality series works, don't worry - you're not alone.

In ten points, here's all you need to know about how The Voice runs:

1. Known officially as The Voice Australia, the show is a singing competition made up of three phases - the blind auditions, the battle round, and the live performances.

2. There are four "coaches" on The Voice - Delta Goodrem, Seal, Joel Madden and Keith Urban.

3. The spinning chairs thing everyone's getting muddled about is actually phase one of the series: the blind auditions. Here, the coaches sit with their backs to the stage, so they can only hear the contestant's voice. If they like what they hear, they hit their buzzer, and their chair turns around to face the contestant. This action means that the contestant is through to the next round.

4. Whichever coach chooses to spin their chair around becomes that contestant's mentor. In the event of more than one coach spinning their chair, the contestant gets to choose who they'd like to have as their coach. If no coach turns around, the contestant is eliminated.

5. In the blind audition phase, the coaches get to choose twelve contestants each. This brings the total contestant pool to 48.

6. After the blind auditions, the second phase is known as the battle round. Here, the coaches choose two contestants from their own team to compete in a sing-off. They have to sing the same song, and whoever sings it best goes through to the next round.

7. At the end of the battle round, each judge will be left with four contestants to put forward into the third round. There will be a total of 16 contestants in this round.

8. The third round is the live performance round, where the power is split between the coaches and the television audience. The television audience will vote to save their favourite contestant, leaving the coach to decide live who they want to save and who will be going home from the contestants leftover.

9. At the series close, each coach will have one contestant left to compete against the other finalists to be named "The Voice of Australia".

10. And the reward for all this fuss? The winner gets a recording contract with Universal Music Australia and $100,000.

Disclaimer: The Voice is in no way associated with John Farnham.    lol   lol

I'm finally enjoying something that ch9 puts to air,I've never been a fan of Delta's as I believed she was a dumb spoilt blonde and she showed last night she can't take rejection big time with a sooky bolt off the stage when Guy Sebastion's brother picked Seal over her,I have felt a little sorry for her as she seems a fish out of water and hasn't a clue on what to do,even though I didn't know too much of Joel Madden I've been impressed with him so far and Seal is the consummate class act, with Keith the dinky dye aussie that is always very real and polite. thumbsup to ch9.

I did not vow not to watch the show but had no intention of watching it, I clicked over to NINE hoping to watch The Big Bang Theory instead got this. I have to say I enjoyed it and was bought to tears by the final act. Gorgeous.
