Right here we go!

In the red corner fresh from three consecutive victories in the NZ-based Wainuiomata Punter of the Year (won narrowly from his grand daughter and the blind bloke next door), believed to be a distant relation of one of Australia's greatest training dynasties -  PETERF!

In the blue corner, rmoured to have cut his punting teeth in the UK (a claim he vehemently denies), the man who recently discovered horses have two ends and that it is the end with the teeth that has to get to the line first - FIREZUKI!

The rules:

1) Three picks each Saturday at any metropolitan course in Australia plus Melbourne Cup
2) Contest ends on final day of the Melbourne Cup carnival
3) Imaginary $10 each way placed on each runner at Tatts odds
4) Winner gets bragging rights
5) Entries must be posted half an hour before the start of the first race in which a horse in selected

Let the contest begin!

Okay.  I've got to put these down tonight because I won't be up till midday and straight to a booking in the cab.
I don't know the track conditions but might I suggest that if any of my picks are scratched (and PeterF's) then the default
tip is the favourite in that race.  I won't have time to change any selections.
If that's okay then ......

Caulfield Race 7 horse 7 Glass Harmonium 10 x 10
Caulfield Race 8 horse 1 Harris Tweed  10 x 10
Rosehill Race 7 horse 7 Winter King 10 x 10

And ...... they're off!

PF

Hallowell Belle - 2nd, a certainty beaten, but I'll settle for that   $1.30 = $13.00
Dowager Queen - Unplaced, she'll keep, wait for the Oaks
December Draw, 1st, bolted in with jockey sitting up, $1.80 $1.20 = $30.00

Total: $43.00

FZ:

Glass Harmonium unplaced, should be renamed Glass Jaw
Harris Tweed unplaced, not yet, mate, wait for the Cups
Winter King, 3rd, a struggle but he got there, $2 = $20

Total = $20.00

Smart Missile no value and no certainty. Think I've got you again, FZ.

Good luck anyway!

Think it's a draw at $27 each.  Has the world gone topsy turvey?

I thought you won this week by a couple of bucks, but happy to call it a draw.

Pinwheel had no luck, Shrapnel needed the run.

Smart Missile smart horse, but a total head case. From a wide draw, up against older horses in a handicap. had it all against him.

Was an amazing run though Pete.  He had absolutely nowhere to go in the straight and still finished not that far off them.
His running style probably means he will always need a bit of luck   .....   and that's not good from a punting perspective.
Not that I'm much of a punter.  Or tipster either.

Right, was going to include Hallowell Belle, but will leave her to you.
After Sepoy's run last night she looks very good today.

SR6 2 Strike the Stars
SR7 13 King Lionheart

Good luck, FZ.
